How to make glitter buttons

I saw a video somewhere on how to make glitter buttons with clear buttons. Do you just put crystal effects on the button and glitter or do you have to use something like double sided tape and glitter? Want top put some on my holiday card but can't remember how it's done. :(

I make my glitter buttons by using a thin layer of CE and then glitter. Once it dries somewhat I then cover the glitter with another thin layer of CE. Lots of sparkle and no glittery mess for the recipient.
