I just received a detailed Minnie Mouse disney punch made by All Night Media. The first time I tried it, it stuck and now won't budge. Any suggestions on how to unstick it?
Joanne
I have used and small flat head screw driver and it popped out. If you get new punches use wax paper first before starting your new projects just punch the paper a couple of times and that is best for the life of your punches if it sticks again.
Thanks everyone. This Minnie punch is a detailed punch and for some reason just keeps sticking every time I insert a piece of paper into it. It doesn't seem to stick if there is no paper in it. I had to use an upside down screw and a hammer to free the punch and paper. There has to be a better way of using this punch. It was suggested to use PAM by another, which works great while the lubricant is still on the punch, but that is no good for actual work. HELP!
I threw a flower punch out today because I tried every suggestion I've ever heard of, but I still couldn't get the darn thing unstuck. I saw a nice flower punch in the SU catalog, so I guess I will wait for the SU sale!
That's what I was thinking Angela. Wax paper might be just the thing to use once the punch is unstuck. This is real disappointing. I would call the company and see what they have to say if nothing works.
I guess I must have misread the original post. I am sorry I didn't realize that is was stuck in the down position. Hmmmm...lets see I have used a small screw driver and a light weight hammer before just to "tap" it back up. I would be on the phone with the company and complain but in a nice way and maybe they will give you a new one and then some "I am so sorry" gifts on top of that they know they really shouldn't mess with us scrappers because we know how to use our scissors you know!
I'm curious about the SU sale and I have done the wax paper bit and it works and I have slammed gently against and inanimate object (hehe) and it works and sometimes I just tap the punch lightly on the top and set it aside while I continue to do something else and it unsticks on it's on. My spell check says that unstick is not a word, but I think it is, so there....
I use silver foil to unstick mine. Not sure what you call silver foil in the US, but I cover my chicken in it when I'm roasting !!
Aluminum or tin foil- it's supposed to work on sharpening a punch too- I had a snowflake punch that stuck from the get-go-I exchanged it for a new one.
I'd like to know about the sale too (even though I just placed a humungous order). ;)

You silly girls, the reply that mentions the sale was posted just after Christmas, she was probably talking about SAB!
...as far as stuck punches, I've always just give 'em a bang...like the wax paper advice, will use some from now on when I get new punches. The tin foil is great for keeping them sharp!
