I love Distress markers, and just went to a workshop where they were used to color and blend directly on stamps, but they wouldn't be my go-to choice for coloring in images.

Last night I used one to color in a tiny circle on a card because of the color, but I wouldn't use them for "coloring coloring," if that makes sense.

aspengirl, on the Ranger site, storing horizontally is suggested.
