Default Help with Quickutz dies and Big Kick

Thanks in advance,
I have the quickutz scalloped circular dies(nesting) and the Big Kick machine, while in Mike's today I saw a sizzix CREASE PAD, do I need this? I have the multi use platform, silicone sheet and impression pad, or are these items enough to cut the nesting shapes? What is the crease pad for?

If anyone has used the quickutz nesting shapes, do they emboss, or is the raised line the cutting egde?
TIA, Linda Seaman

Linda, my thought is go ahead and try it without the crease pad. If it doesn't work, get a crease pad and try it. I have a few of the dies that are supposed to require the crease pad but they seem to work find without it. I also know that there are some sizzix adapters to use when you are using a QK die. I have found them at Michael's and Joann's. I think there are 4-5 in the pack for $5.
