I like narrow mats of 1/8 inch around my mats. I can never cut straight with my cutters. I have square and rectangle sets of dies but the next size die up in these sets leave 1/4 inch margins. Does anyone know of die sets that will increase in size by increments of 1/8 inch? This would allow me to have 1/8 inch mat increments.
Just to clarify - you like 1/8” around all sides, so then the dies would need to be 1/4” bigger? Also, what size are you talking about - for A2 cards, slimline, etc? Actual dimensions would probably help.
I would think the set in the link might work. If there are 16 dies and the narrowest is .5” and the widest is 4.25” they con only increase a small amount from one to the next.
Waffle Flower and Hero Arts each have one or two sets of nesting dies that should help you. Also Gina K has Master Layouts 1, 2, and 3 that will help you with very narrow layers.
I think that your best option is the Hero Arts Infinity Dies mentioned above. They come in rectangle, rounded rectangle, circle, etc. Note: I'm not familiar with other brands that have those tight sizes in their dies.
The 1/8" border mentioned in the EH stitched dies above is 1/8" from stitching to the edge. It doesn't make 1/8" difference in the layers. I only use these if I only have one layer, and I want the stitched edge.
I've bought the infinity dies for the same reason you mentioned. I want the layers that close in size. If I want wider layers, then I can skip sizes. That means that I am getting rid of several different brands of dies that don't meet that standard for me. A good thing!

Another vote for the Spellbinders sets. They make quite a few different basic as well as decorative shapes in the Large and Small so that a 1/8" border can be achieved. Just bought the basic circles and basic ovals for my daughter's stocking this year.
