Default Help for clear stamps that bead up the ink...

I know we have discussed this problem lots of times. Many company's stamps are prone to ink beading. I've seen where people use an eraser before stamping, using a sanding block, and probably many solutions I can't remember, but I don't remember anyone trying this one:

Use your adhesive pick up square to rub over the stamp!

I was stamping with some new stamps from inkadinkadoo the other day and they are notorious for having the ink bead up. I was looking around my desk for an eraser and didn't see one. So instead of getting up to go get one, I saw my adhesive pick up square sitting in the basket right there and thought I would try it.

WOW! I have never had any solution work as well! I rubbed in all 4 directions so that I was sure that I got the whole image and it didn't take much rubbing.

I'm attaching links to two of the images I did this way...
VSN What's in the air? by fionna51 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
VSN rich colors plus shimmer by fionna51 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
BTW these are done with regular SU! dye inks.

I'm probably the only one who doesn't know what an adhesive pick up square is, lol! I've never heard of it, can someone clarify please?

I think it is one of those beige gummy eraser looking things. Is that clear as mud?

Thanks for the great tip! I have a Xyron pickup square to use. I also started using Versafine ink to stamp my images(i mostly stamp in black and color my images) and it doesn't bead nearly as much.

Thank you so very very much! I have had problems with my acrylic stamps, and I think this could be such an easy solution! I ordered this from the company you suggested on 11/16 and received my product today! Wow...great service here.

Thanks again!

Since I have stamped for 10 years without one of these, when do you use an adhesive picker upper, besides to get an acrylic stamp to not bead up?

If you have a bit of adhesive around the edge of a piece you've adhered, you can rub the eraser on it to remove it (dry adhesives you can do it right away; liquid adhesives wait until they're dry)

It's been a life saver for me...I often use liquid adhesive and sometimes I'm a bit too generous and it squeezes out the edge a little.

It also works well to remove some adhesives on the back of the rubber when you are unmounting your stamps.

Great tip , TYFS Did you need to use it every time before using the stamp or just the first use of the stamp?
