I don't have a comparison but my vote is for the ATG because in the long run (I believe) the refills for the ATG are cheaper than the Glueglider. I konw the size of the ATG is a little scarry at first but once you get used to it it is actually quite comforting to use.
I love my ATG714 and will never give it up. I did recently see the new Glue Glider Gun at my LSS, and it's way smaller than the ATGs and has extremely easy cartridge replacement (just pull one out and push the new one in). If you want real ease for a bit more money, this would be good. I was tempted, but the cost difference is not worth it for me.
I bought the Glue Glider yesterday and really like it. I plan on using it until I can purchase the Tape Depot version of the ATG. I did a quick comparison and I don't think I'm really saving anything with GG over the Tombow but I keep losing the Tombow in my messy craft room and the GG is too big to get lost!
I have only one caveat about the tape guns -- at least the 3M one I have. It is definitely a right handed tool so all you southpaws be aware. I use it all the time and love it but it took some getting used to. I actually use it right handed because placement of the adhesive is more precise.
