Has anyone else noticed this?? I even noted it on my blog and someone from the Glue Dots company contacted me. She sent me new dots thinking there could be a defect but the replacements are the same! The dots in the dispenser are softer and stretchier than the boxed ones; at least the boxed ones I had which were quite old. I bought a bunch on sale and have been using them for years. I use glue dots to adhere ribbon to the back of cardstock (wrapped around from the front) and they keep coming off. I made 4 cards and every one came off. Just SU! CS and SU! grosgrain ribbon. The rep requested the old ones back along with a sample of the ribbon. I am starting to feel crazy thinking I am the only one. Unless they changed the formula, my only idea is that maybe the dots in the box get drier concentrating the glue?? Maybe I should leave the cap off my dispenser!

You might be right. I just used up a couple rolls that were about 5 - 7 years old and they were way stickier (gooier, really) than the new ones. My guess is that age does something to them. Haven't had any trouble with the new ones holding, though.

I noticed the same thing so I asked my DH who is a Chemical Engineer and works with adhesive . He then gave me a big long explaination of how and why it could happen. In plain english I said, he said sure it can. He also said humidity, tempature, sunlight, etc can also effect them.
I just decided to keep buying the ones in the box bc I like them a lot better.
I've used these on cards that I've sent out.... The dispenser isn't convenient either IMO...I've had a difficult time placing the dots where I wanted them.
The only problem I've had with the dispenser is trying to roll it so the dots show up where I want them. They make me feel terribly eye/hand challenged. I wind up using tweezers to take them off the dispenser and put them where I want them which kind of defeats the whole purpose of the dispenser.
I do have even more of a problem with those that come on the sheets - I can't get any of them to ever stick to anything.
