Somehow I managed to swipe my tape runner on the inside of my MISTI. It's not a lot but it's irritating. LOL Does not interfere with my stamping but I'd like to get it off if possible. I tried using my little square rubber thing that take adhesive off of cards but it just smeared it a bit.
Any suggestions?

I don't have a MISTI but if it is acrylic, then you can just use some rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball or kleenex. I keep a stash of the ones that come in the little packets in my craft room so that I can clean my scissors and anything else that accumulates adhesive.

So far, I've been able to just use the heat from the friction of rubbing my finger over any tape left on my MISTI lid. Not a perfect solution, but adequate enough for my purposes. The only concern I have is to not be too rough so as not to mess with the hinges loosening. I'm careful to support the lid when I'm working on it. A magazine or piece of fun foam underneath the open door. The spray that came with my MISTI ... super unsatisfactory results, imho.

My best luck with removing adhesive from things like that is just to kind of dab at it with the sticky side of a piece of tape. I don't have a MISTI, but the tape thing works for adhesive on glass jars, and bits of label stuck on plastic jars. Sometimes it takes a while and a lot of dabbing, but it works in the end. I can't imagine that it wouldn't work on the MISTI, and it shouldn't damage the acrylic.
No idea if this will work but ice cubes are said to be effective for removing chewing gum (from hair). Perhaps rubbing a cube over the sticky residue will help, and water shouldn't do any harm. Wear gloves to avoid frostbite!
I'd try the sticky tape method first. And the oil on what's left. Any kind of cooking oil can be good on surfaces that would be damaged by solvants. Try it on a cotton ball and scrub away. It takes a lot more elbow grease than solvants, but I have had success with it on many things. Then you'll have to clean the oil off, but that isn't hard, if you use it sparingly. You might test this out on some piece of plastic from recycling with a bit of your tape runner on it. See if you think it will work on the misti.
When I need to remove labels from glass/plastic jars to reuse, I use a combination of baking soda & a little cooking oil. Apply baking soda to sticky area then apply just enough cooking oil to make a paste; let it remain on the item for up to 30 minutes then wipe off. You may have to repeat this process if it doesnt all come off. Make sure to wash the item after wiping off all the adhesive.
Goo-Gone is what I use to clean glue off my scissors! I have used it to take labels off glass or plastic. You could use that, then use cleaner recommended by Misti afterwards.
