Question Gesso?

What's Gesso and how or what do you use it for?

Thanks!

tells all about it: http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-gesso.htm

It's basically a primer to make surfaces receptive to paint or other mediums.

I use it to print digi stamps if I want to emboss them. You just paint a thin layer on your paper, and it makes the ink stay wet longer.
