Default Frapp bottles

You can put M & M's (or any small candies), sunflower seeds, paper clips, bath salts, hot chocolate, spices, just to name a few

Google "Freecycle" and see what shows up. It is a place where people give away items they no longer want. I subscribe to my local Freecycle. People can request items and/or give away items.

I was one of the posters looking for a Frappuccino Carrier to make and I love Katie's Picnic Box. But, I was looking for a 2 carrier box.....a SCS friend Mary (craftymomto2) gave me this link for a 2 carrier box http://laurenm.blogs.splitcoaststamp...hings-is-here/

I made Lauren's up and decided to make it a bit shorter and narrowerer, 2 1/2" x 5". I had to do some trimming of the ends to get them to line up.

Just wanted you to know in case you did not want to give 4 bottles full of stuff. FYI, I am filling one with Vanilla Hot Chocolate and the other with marshmellows; tieing on some peppermint sticks to the handle.

I keep thinking they would make cute fragrance diffuser bottles. Every year Pier I seems to come up with more cute ideas, like putting in glitter, jingle bells, and silver snowflakes. My local craft store sells the oil and the reed pieces now, so you can make your own creations.

I wish it was my choice of drink and I could save the bottles, I do not know anyone that drinks them.

Subscribing, I've been saving all kinds of Snapple tea bottles and the inside of the cap has some cute little saying or piece of trivia.

Oh, you just gave me a great idea! I like drinking Snapple much better than Frappuccinos, less sugar! I need to get a couple of those and adapt my directions to fit decorated Snapple bottles.....hmmmm....wonder if anyone would be interested??

I realized that the fun size Hershey Bars and large marshmallows fit inside the snapple bottles. We live in a country subdivision and everyone has fire pits and kids. I'm thinkin smores bottles as gifts. Or a family sized version of hot cocoa, fewer bottles and enough cocoa for everyone. This is where your version is exceedingly helpful and useful.
Plus in Illinois, if you look there is a $1 off coupon on the snapple 6 pack & it's on sale for $4.99. So I bought 3 for $3.99 each

I will be out and about tomorrow, I'll pick up a couple of Snapples and see what the dimensions need to be. Your idea is a good one for your needs.

Hey if you have SU Under the Stars set, you could decorate the bottles or carrier with it.....in case you did not know, there is a smore as one of the stamps!

Default Another idea for bottles: Classico Pasta Sauce

My family loves Classico Pasta Sauce. (I've been saving bottles for something - maybe this is it!) It comes in a beautiful glass Mason jar, about double the volume of the Frappuccino jar. It might work better for those items that are larger (like for the sewing kit idea).

Are you able to get the pasta smell out? I know we save them for our grease, but they always seem to smell of pasta sauce.

Baking soda in hot water might help. I would add about 2 teaspoons of baking soda to a jar of hot water. Mine seem to be fine after they go through the dishwasher. These are wonderful ideas ladies, thanks for sharing!

I got a bottle last year for christmas full of bird seed and inside the seeds where
little treasures inside to find on a list like a rubber band, tooth pick, botton, small
plactic baby bottle, gold bead, plastic ring etc find a bunch of small items make a list
of the items (leave a few items out makes them keep looking for something that's not there more entertaing). place the items in the bottle and then add bird seed shake
it up a bit and then you find the treasure hiden inside the bottle by rolling the bottle and uncovering the treasure.

I put boiling water in them, or boil them, as if I am canning. The lids as well. I think bleaching the lids would be easy too.

Thanks

I placed a box with a sign at my workplace lunch room asking for empty frap bottles and the caps and got a good response last year. Warm dilute vinegar water worked well to get off glue residue under the labels.

Okay gals give me some feedback -- I am a bit unsure about actually placing food items inside the Starbuck bottles to give/sell to others? Is it just me?

I have no problem putting food items in to give away as I steralize them....as for selling, a big no-no here - against health regulations.

I don't have a problem for giving them as gifts. I sterilize them and am really careful about handling the food. People who know me, know that, and know they won't get sick.

As for selling - NOPE! Not unless I get my kitchen inspected and it is certified. If I was going to be doing a lot of craft fairs, I might do that. We had a certified kitchen and food handlers certificate for years, as we sold edible things. It wasn't hard to do, just had to be ready for surprise inspections (we always passed). We haven't done that in a long time, but if I was doing quite a few craft fairs, it might be worth it. Unless you are prepared to get your kitchen and techniques inspected and certified, and do the food handlers class, then I wouldn't put food in them to sell.

A really cute idea though, if you are wanting to do like Snowman Soup to sell to them, is have the bottles/lid all decorated. Have a sign that says the bottles have been totally sterilized and are ready for food. Decorate your case, put your empty bottles in it. And put a little sign in front that says "We provide the food, you fill the bottles". Then have the hot chocolate packets, and give them however many it takes to fill a bottle, and buy the marshmallows and chocolate chips in smaller bags and give them those. You can fill the bottle that has the pre-wrapped peppermint sticks because they would still be in original packaging. I noticed when I was preparing mine that it was a LOT of chocolate chips to fill one bottle full of those, way more than anyone would use for hot chocolate. So now I am layering the marshmallows/chocolate chips. A big layer of marshmallows, small layer of chocolate chips, etc. Have an example out so they know how to fill it, then give them the prepackaged goods to fill their own bottles. Or charge a bit less, and sell it without the food.

I think if you had out an example and they saw how cute it was, they'd probably still buy it even if they had to dump in the hot chocolate themselves.

I am doing magic reindeer food this year for the little kids but not in the bottles. I decided on a topper and mini zip bag. I am filling it with rice krispies and then red and green sprinkles. I know others use glitter, but that could really make a mess of the yard and get everywhere. With the sprinkles, the birds seem to eat it (I found that strange, but they really did. LOL!). I just made a topper for the bag on the computer, printed it out and glue it on. Really simple and easy and CHEAP to make a ton of them. One box of rice krispies and I had something like 30 bags. I wouldn't do the cat food unless you want the cats in your yard. We have a lot of ferral cats (really mean ones, at that) and if the kids put that on our grass, I don't think we'd ever get the cats to leave the yard!!
