Default foiling systems: Will Gemini work in machines other than Gemini Jr?

I have searched the forums for discussion of the Gemini foilpress system and the Spellbinders glimmer press system. I love foiling but have had mixed results with foil that requires either toner or transfer gel to get an image foiled. Looking for an easier way. I considered the WRMK foil pens to use in one of my Cricuts--the one out of warranty.

Here is my question: in some blogs and you tube videos there is mention that the Gemini MAY work with other die cut machines such as Big Shot or Spellbinders Platinum. No one has said, "I tried it and it just doesn't work" or "I tried it and made xyz adjustments and it worked" or simple, "Yeah it isn't limited to the Gemini Jr."

HAS ANYONE TRIED USING GEMINI IN OTHER DIE CUT MACHINES?

(All caps for anyone that doesn't want to read a lengthy post.

Thanks so much--Billie Sue

I only foil with bits of foil on damp alcohol ink but if you don’t get a response that you can take to the bank, you might want to use the contact form on Hedgehog Hollow’s blog to ask. Alexandra reviews both systems side by side. The blog text mentions that the Spellbinders is compatible with other die cutting machines, and it does not say that about the Gemini. But she might have just not tried it at that point or forgot to address jot it down. Good luck!

bjeans,

Thanks for the response. I have watched Alexandra's video. My big issue is whether to buy a gemini jr.

Yes, I understand - that’s why I suggested asking her directly (using her Contact the Hollow form), since she doesn’t address your question in the video. The Gemini Junior is wonderful, but if there's no need to buy it, it would be good to know.
