Default EMBOSSING WITH CB

When I emboss with nestabilities do you have to use the brown embossing mat with the cuttlebug?

I don't have the brown embossing mat. I use plumber's gasket instead, since I can get it locally and it's cheap.

It's a red rubbery square (about 6") that comes in two thicknesses. I personally bought the thicker one, but I think I could have easily done with the thinner one since I really have to crank to get it through the machine. Either way, the price is around $1 where I live (Eastern shore).

Be prepared for blank stares if you go looking for it, even at Lowe's or Home Depot. The only person in the store who knew what it was (and still had a hard time finding it) was the guy who worked in that particular aisle. I don't think Home Depot had it at all; I finally found it at Lowe's.

HTH!

I bought my plumber's gasket at Home Depot. I told the sales person that it was for my crafting. The guy didn't blink and eye. He said his wife goes into various stores to buy crafting items that aren't specifically made for that purpose. The stores don't care - a sales is a sale!

I didn't mean to sound rude about the stores. I really love both Home Depot and Lowe's because they are very helpful and courteous. But I went in assuming they'd know what plumber's gasket was (and where to find it), and they had no idea. Neither did I at the time! I'm sure it varies, depending on the store and the employees.
