e-Bosser

Hi everyone!

I am a total newbie to die cutting, but I LOVE it. I started with the Grand Calibur and discovered the e-Bosser on HSN. I purchased it and I love that it is electric because my shoulders were killing me. However, I did not receive the E platform that shows up in every video available. It is not mentioned in the instruction book at all. It is very difficult to get clean cuts with intricate dies, so I waste a lot of paper. I'm wondering if any of you, that have it, received an E plate? Thanks

I ordered it from HSN as well and there were comments in the reviews that they replaced the E plate with the black shim (I think) or maybe it was the rubber mat. We got a thin black plate and a black magnetic rubber plate to be used with metal dies. You have to experiment with various sandwiches to make it work with various dies. I know I had to use like 8 pieces of copy paper for my Sizzix texturz plate to work. I would suggest writing down what you figure out with each kind of die/embossing item so you know just how to do it the next time you want to use it. I know I forget and have to go through the experimental process all over again.

Thanks so much for your reply. I was wondering if that black thin, cardboard-like piece was the E shim. If it is, it does not give much pressure. Sometimes, I cannot get a clean cut, following the sandwich directions, when I'm just cutting a circle. It costs a lot of money to get "iffy" results. :(

Have you tried a sheet of wax paper or parchment paper between your DSP papers and the die cut? It helps make a clean cut. Also, the parchment paper can usually be used on another project rather than throwing it out. If none of these things make things better call the company and ask for help...usually they want to help and make things right so you'll enjoy your machine! Good luck!
