Default Does anyone have the Fiskars 9 inch bypass trimmer?

Hello!

I just bought this and I cannot get it to cut a straight line. Is the plastic thing that you place the paper under supposed to be able to move up and down....this is what seems to be stopping the paper from cutting straight, if I hold it down firm to the trimmer it cuts great. At the moment I have put two pop dots under the thing to hold it down, but I am trying to figure out if I have a faulty one or if this is how its supposed to be? Thanks

I would contact Fiskars.. they have great customer service. I don't have the cutter you have, but had a problem with one in the past and commented on how I should've just bought another of one I had and the lady sent me the cutter I had wished I bought, I sent the other trimmer back to them. The part at the top that the paper rests again, was so low that sometimes the paper didn't rest against it as it should.

Hopefully they can figure something out for you.

I was JUST popping over to suggest you contact customer service! Please let me know if you need anything else. I don't work for customer service but as part of Fiskars' ambassador program, I'm always happy to help out

(and thanks for the heads-up, Lydia!)

Thanks for your reply...I heard back and apparently thats how its supposed to be and you have to hold the plastic down in order to get a straight cut. Kind of a bummer, I prefer my MM trimmer but wanted a smaller one for my desk! I may take it back, will see how it goes! Thanks again for all your replies.
