For so long now, I have eyed up the spectrum pads, especially the Cotton Candy one (if that's the right name). I never end up getting one because I am not sure that I would use it properly. Do you guys like them? Any downsides, or upsides? Which are your faves??
thats the one i ordered..cause it was sooo pretty...I've never used it!!! Can't decide what I should do with it...let me know if you discover something!!! I've had it for over a year!! maybe 2 !!!
I too have recently bought a couple, Tried using them a few times, but haven't been wowed by the results... Guess I need to play around a while and see if I can get better results!
You all are saying what I was thinking.. they seem REALLY cool, but not sure I have the mind for what to do with them! Maybe someone will help us out with a post here!
That sunset card is lovely! My question is say you are wanting to use it a few times on a card. You roll the brayer once then apply. But if you have to go back to the pad, how do you not "contaminate" other colors??

The colors won't blend into each other as long as you keep the brayer going in the same direction each time you roll them over the pad. When I use the brayer on mine, I usually roll over the pad several times to make sure the entire surface of the brayer is covered.
One neat technique is to clear emboss an image and then brayer over it. It acts like a resist--very pretty!
If you want to just use the spectrum pads to stamp, they work great for backgrounds and then come back with one of the colors from the inkpad for your main vocal point. That's the cool thing about SU's pads. They correspond with their ink colors. I have other color combos from the lss and am always challanged to find a matching solid inkpad color.
I have them and use them when I can, which isn't often enough. I love using them for the resist techniques, and for doing Joseph's coat and some of the other backgrounds. so pretty when stamped.

Love the cards that were shared! I have the K pads too and I haven't used them for awhile. When I bought them, I loved them. I like the K pads because before you put them away, you flick a switch inside which separates the colors when being stored. I have only brayered on glossy cardstock; haven't tried regular cardstock. But seeing these cards has got me inspired and I might pull out the 6 pads I have! (one isn't even unwrapped)
I think wet paper watercoloring with them is way cool. Directions for that technique are in the resources section here at SCS. Here's my take on it: autumn thanks
