Isn't the cricut the one that uses computer type cartridges and not real dies? If so, then no they would not work!

The cricut is a machine that cuts (think printer with blade instead of ink). Maybe she meant the cuttlebug?

Or maybe she meant do any of the dies coordinate with any of the Cricut cartridges. Let us know what she meant!

Yeah I just looked it up, our dies won't work, there is no where to put them among other problems:-)

Maybe she doesn't mean cuttlebug...and they do work with the right sandwich. I started out with the CB. The XL's work too but you need a longer cutting pad (or 4 regular CB pads).

The Cricut and Expression are electronic die cutting machines. They will not work with any manual dies. You would need a non-electronic die cutting machine for anything from Stampin' Up. That's why they sell the BigShot. Stampin' Up sells products that work with the other products they sell. Yes, their products will work in other non-electric die cutting machines.

Cricut and Expression machines use cartridges for cutting shapes and fonts.

As far as I know, Sizzix (SU) big shot dies will only fit the Sizzix big shot or big kick. These dies are too big for standard machines like cuttlebug or original sizzix. You might also look at the new Spellbinders Grand Calibur. It's a bigger machine, similar to cuttlebug but it takes bigger dies.

The SU Bigz and XL dies DO work in the CB...I know because I used to have one and used them with much success in the past. You just have to find the right sandwich. Now, the big shot cutting plates are what doesn't fit in the CB, they are too wide. There are lots of threads on this and the sandwiches and how to get plates that fit. The XL dies will take 4 regular CB plates or I think CB sells extended plates now too. This is a big misconception. I finally got a big shot and like it better simply because it's bigger, sturdier and quicker to use with the SU stuff but the CB does work!

MINDERS: Thanks SO much for the information. Yes, I thought I had read in various threads and blogs that the SU Bigz XL dies do not work in the Cuttlebug because the dies were too wide to go through the machine. Yes, a big misconception. I just recently got the extended plates for the CB so looks like I can use the XL. Thanks for sharing your personal experience. I am thinking of getting a Big Shot eventually but I won't be doing that till SAB.

Cuttlebug now has extended plates to use with the Sizzix BigzXL dies. Any die/embossing folder/embossing plate that fits through a Big Shot or Big Kick will now work with a Cuttlebug.

IME, though, the BS/BK machines are sturdier and I just like them better. (Via gifts and poor planning, I have all three -- BK, BS, CB.)

No problem and I agree, I like my big shot a lot better...simply on sturdiness and ease of use alone....but that CB is cute:-)
