Do I need the Cuttlebug?
Ok, I am sooooo confused. I have the Sizzex, but I am loving the cards done with the Cuttlebug. I have been trying to justify buying it, although I don't even know how much it is. I feel that the Sizzex is very limited. I have a ton of Lasting Impressions brass plates, although I know you can't use them with anything. But how about Circut? I know that is expensive. Your thoughts please? Help me spend my money wisely (ha-ha!)

I just bought the cuttlebug embossing templates and use it with my sizzix. As long as you have that medal magnet adapter that you use with the sizzlits. I also just got the cricut- I haven't really had a chance to use it but the playing I did was a lot of fun. I have a scrapbook weekend coming up so I will have lots of time to use it then...

I got the CB embossing folders not realizing you need the converter if you're using a Sizzix! WAAAA! I have a converter on the way though, and plan to be a tightwad and make do by blowing the dust off that ole Sizzix!

I have used the embossing folders with the Sizzix and the metal magnet convertor. I now have the Big Shot and can use my Cuttlebug embossing folders, brass stencils, Fiskar templates, and Ellison texture plates. I have the Big Impressions Starter Kit or BISK for short. I helps me to emboss all these things. That's why I bought it.
Sizzix is coming out with a sister product called the Big Kick! Go to www.sizzix.com
or www.ellisondesign.com to view these items!
Good Luck with your decision!

I have a cuttlebug but haven't had much time to use it so far. I got it as a Christmas present. This is the first ever die cutting machine I have owned.

I just ordered a CB (it's on its way!) and I'm so excited to use it! Maybe if you use it more you'll find you like it more?

I haven't had much time to play yet, but I am loving it so far. My 6 1/2 year old daughter even had fun with it. I would just buy the converter pieces for your sizzix to start with and if you find you love the CB items more and want the smaller size then buy it. You won't be out any money except the cost of the adapter piece.

I just bought 2 CB embossing folders to use with the Sizzix. I was pushed over the edge by everyone who said they were compatible with the Sizzix. I hope I can figure out how to work it. LOL (I do have the adapter thingy.)

Glad for the info. I, too, have the Sizzix plus the adapter, and the Sidekick, and didn't want to invest in a whole different system. I guess I'll go buy a template and check it out. Will the CB emobossing templates work in the Sidekick?

Of course you do! HEHE! I am such an enabler.
I love my Bug. Most of my blog is dedicated to the Bug.
I just love the dry embossing. Such a dramatic effect without any work. The die cutting is great too - I love the Red Tag and Olivia alphas for scrapping.

Thank you for all the information. It sounds like maybe I may just get the converter and try that. Thank you all!

I got my CB from AllThatScraps.com for $65.99 (plus shipping b/c I'm in Canada - if you're in the US you get free shipping from them if your order is over $10).
I know there are a LOT of other online stores that carry it too, and Michaels has it for like $79.99 reg ($110 in Canada).

In the US, Michael's retails it for $79.99. Joann's has it for $89.99. Joann's has a coupon this weekend for 50% off! Not bad.

I got a Cuttlebug for Christmas... my dh bought it at Michael's with a 40% off coupon, so it was only $65.40 plus tax CDN.
I am thrilled with it! I just can't wait to get all the embossing folders I ordered.
I also ordered the Big Shot starter kit for one reason - PAISLEY!!
I'd say the Cuttlebug is the way to go if you're debating between this and a Cricut because it's much more affordable and you can emboss! I love how quick and easy it is to add so much texture to a card.

I use my Sizzix for embossing using both the Lasting Impressions brass stencils and also the CB embossing folders. I see no reason at this time to get a CB. Need the money for embossing folders !! I do have the converter.
