Default Do I have a bum Crop-a-dile?

I haven't been all that impressed with my CAD's eyelet setting. I do love the hole punching though! So I started reading through all the threads and trying the different advice but still no luck. The eyelets set squished on one side.

Then I started examining my CAD. When I squeeze the eyelet setting part together, I notice that the setting part "C" does not line up with the center of any of the other side #1-4. The tip is over to one side consistently. I'm thinking that mine may be defective.

Anyone else have this problem? TIA for any input.

Default A couple of suggestions

A couple of suggestions. Then return it to the store.

* Try using side C with side #4.

* Check one more thing. The little black squares need to be firmly snapped into place.

If that doesn't help, take it back to the store and tell them just what you said here. That you have tried different advice and that when you look at the implement, the parts are not aligned properly.

How funny for me to read this post!! I, too, had the very same problem. I was sooooo sad!! I kept reading entry after entry on much everyone loved their CAD and mine just kept setting the eyelets cattywampus (not straight). I finally went back to my Hobby Lobby and exchanged it for another one and, lo and behold, no more squished eyelets!! So, YES, go exchange it!! At the least, it won't make your eyelets worse and, at best, you can love your CAD as much all of us do!!

Yes, side C with #4 works well. My eyelets set flat with a small slit on the back. HOWEVER....cheap eyelets and large eyelets can be tricky. Sometimes cheap eyelets will set and sag to the side or the paint will chip. SU! eyelets set perfect everytime. If the shaft of the eyelet is long, expect it to curl over rather than set flat. I cover those with glue dots to prevent rubbing and ripping when I layer.

Thanks everyone. I am pretty sure that mine is defective. I'll have to see if I can exchange it.

Thanks for all the help!
