Default Difference between metal foil tapes

Ranger is having a good sale today-45% off on stamps, stencils, ink sprays and substrates. code is DAY2. Part of a 5 day run of sales. Different stuff different days.

Ranger has it's own metal foil tape and then there is Tim Holtz's alcohol ink metal foil tape. They are the same price.

Does anyone know the difference? As far as I can tell I can use alcohol inks on both, both are embossable....??

Is this just marketing?

They just come in several sizes. Sometimes - not always - Tim products are sized/colored/geared more to his specifications/type of project. Alcohol ink can be used on any non-porous surface.

Thanks Bjeans. That's what I thought. It just seemed like the same thing with a different packaging.
