Default Dies Turn Paper Black/Grey

Does anyone know why a die would cause the die cut to come out with black/grey streaks on it?

Have you tried washing them or wiping with an alcohol?

I think sometimes it is just a manufacturing residue. I am typically able to remove it from my die cuts with a white eraser.

Supposedly PTI had their die manufacturer add a coating to make the die cuts easier to release from the die. I DETEST THESE DIES. Removing the marks they leave is a total PITA.

They added the release holes that aid in removing the die cuts, so I'm not entirely sure why they felt the need to do this. I wish they would leave well enough alone already! And that statement also goes for how they're doing their releases now.
