Did anyone buy the CRICUT package from QVC? Is it a good deal?
I am so tempted to buy it from them. Wonder if I could get a better deal else where or if the price might be better once the bigger Circut comes out.
Hmmmm decisions decisions.
I like the fact that the WishBlade can have fonts downloaded from the computer, but goodness it's so much more. Will Circut make it so we can connect to the computer too I wonder?? Hmm

I saw this on QVC too. I didn't know if it was a good deal or not. I know Joann's and other places are selling them for $249. I would be interested if anyone has any suggestions where the best deal is.
When Cricut first came out last year, this offer was a great deal. I bought it on pre-order when Cricut was new. But now, I am confident that you can buy the Cricut machine and the cartridges for a cheaper price, especially in Walmart. But I heard some Walmarts are pulling the cricuts off of their shelves. So better check on that. I suggest you search on the internet, and your local stores and see if you can find a better deal. Also, if you plan on getting the New Cricut Machine, wait a little bit because QVC might have a good deal on that one too. Good luck!
Yes, the one on QVC is an excellent deal for $249 because it comes with the Doodletype cartridge, too. That alone sells for over $100 on ebay. The total value on that machine with the extra cartridge is a super deal!!

Really? The Doodletype cartridge is that expensive? WOW!
I haven't seen the Cricut at our walmart... hmmmm.
I'm not sure if I would want the bigger cricut. I cant see needing anything that big. The selling point for it , for me, would be if you could download things from the computer.
The Doodletype cartridge is exclusive to QVC and only comes when you buy their Cricut. You cannot buy it anywhere else except Ebay.
Personally I do not care for a machine that I can use to download from the computer. I love the way that my die cuts are 3 dimensional and have so many different features I can do with them. From what I understand, you cannot do that with the ones you download.
Just a thought. I LOVE my Cricut and wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING. I have used it almost everyday for the last 2 months. You can do so many things on there with just one cartridge. (I guess I don't need 13 cartridges??)
I love my Cricut! I bought mine from QVC last year when $259 was a steal. Since you can get them at Walmart for around $170 your biggest decision is whether you think Doodletype is worth the $89 price difference plus shipping!
Provo craft did a press release a day or two ago and stated that they are working on developing technology to hook the Cricut (both the current model and the new one coming out) to a PC. They stated that it was in development and close to being done.
The new one has some fun features that are quite tempting, but I'll wait at least a year so the price comes down - if I get one at all.
Oh, I forgot to say that you can go to www.cricut.com and view the handbooks for all the cartidges to see what they do. This may help you decide whether or not you want Doodletype.

Thanks for sharing your enthusiasim. I really think I would use the cricut too.
I have a sizzix (goodness those dies are $$) and a quickutz. I havent used either of them as much as I would like. Mainly because of the time involved and the time it takes to get all of the dies out (and put back)...
I think I might go ahead and list those on Ebay hopefully I could make enough off of them to buy the cricut. Hmmmm.
I like the way that the cartridges for the cricut have so much more on them. So even though they arent cheap the prices stretches further since you get more for your money than you do with Sizzes for example.

I called Walmart and found that they did get 1 in .. however the price is $199. Hmm wonder why other walmarts have it for so much less.
I got a Cricut machine with the George cartridge for Christmas. I was with my MIL when she bought it and we got it for 199 at Michaels. The sales girl said it was mismarked but they honored the price. The cartridges are 69.99 at Michaels when they are on sale. I bought the doodlecharms off ebay for 55 and found that my local Walmart has them too now so I bought the monogram alpha there for about 52 I think. Walmart had the machine for 155 when I saw it there.
I checked the cricut site and it seems that you can do basicly the same stuff as the doodletype cartridge with some of the other cartridges.
I would have jumped on the QVC deal if I didn't already have one! First, reason, the QVC Cricut comes with an extra font cartridge that is exclusive to QVC! Can't buy it anywhere else! Except the Bay, if you want to pay over $120! Second reason, the sale price was $259, and they were offering on 5 payments! $259 is usually the sale price in the craft stores, and you get an exclusive cartirdge. I really wanted the font cartridge. That's what started my whole pursuit of the Cricut. Just my two cents.
I got my Cricut from QVC because of the Doodletype cartridge was included.. which I love by the way. So I would have to say that yes it is a good deal.
I even paid extra for the fast shipping. Pam

LOve the Cricut because you can do so many sizes with each cartridge. Yes,I got mine too from QVC last April. I'm beginning to use it more and more.Love the mini monogram cart. because it does the the scallop circle and square too from 1 inch to I believe 5 or 5 1/2 inches. I thought is was a great deal to have the 5 payments offered this time.

MAking note to check out the mini mono cart.... hmmm I already have a cart list and dont even have the cricut yet. LOL how sad is that.
I did not know they were coming out with a new cricut!?! Tell me more! When? How large? What is going to be different about it?
The new Cricut Expressions will be out in May I believe. It will use a 12x12 or 12x24 cutting mat. It is totally compatable with the original Cricut as far as cartridges are concerned. It will have to ability to use multiple features at once. Has the ability to cut someting in 2-4 passes (cutting chipboard???), center your cut over a specific point on the mat. I can't remember what else, but it's sounding kinda fun.
The other announcement that Provo Craft made was that they're in the processing of developing the use of the USB port on the current Cricut as well as the Cricut Expressions. So, it will have similar functionality to the Wishblade where you can use fonts on your computer to cut out stuff.
All this info is availabe on www.cricut.com if you want to know more.
Thanks, Karen. I might wait fot the new one to come out. The price will probably be too high at first, so I could save the money for it now. I'll check out their website.
Since they are the same price at HL, I plan to get one when they have a 40% off coupon for one non-sale item!!
Read those coupons closely. Everyone that I have gotten from HB reads like MI...does not apply to Cricut or Cricut products....so be sure to look at the fine print.
I purchased my Cricut from the Q. I think the better deal especially if you got the 5 easy pay plan, is with QVC, plus you get the extra cartridge (Doodletype). The cartridges are averaging about 59.99 to 69.99, which of course makes the cost of the Cricut to be around 119. to 139.00 give or take a few cent plus shipping. That's not too, too, bad. Plus if it comes damaged in anyway, there's a good, good chance that you can return it for a replacement. That may not always be the case with items won on the Bay...
I bought mine from QVC in January. NO it's not worth the price. You can purchase the Cricut from Walmart for $169. I returned mine and ended up purchasing the Silhouette. Much better purchase.
