Question Deco Foil and Toner - help!

I have a Brother laser printer and I have tried several times to use printouts with Deco Foil and my laminator. Not once has the foil transfered to the image. Can someone suggest what might be going wrong?

I think I read once that there are different kinds of toners and that some don't work with for this technique. Can someone tell me specifically what kind of toner I should be using?
I've also read that some printers don't deposit enough toner for the foil to stick. I'm definitely not getting another printer, so I was thinking I might play with the printer settings - contrast, brightness, etc. - and see if that might help. Has this worked for anyone?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I recall reading that the toner in the commercial machines you can get copies done in a store with, works. Don't know if that info will be of any help?

Are you laying the decofoil "pretty side up" over your images?
Does your laminator have heat settings?

You may also want to check the thickness settings on your laminator and include a piece of cardstock in the carrier sheet as you run your piece through so there’s a little extra thickness and pressure on the foil. I usually let my machine heat for 20-30 min, even though it says it’s ready in 5. Good luck!
