Default Cuttlebugs using Big Shots Dies...

I purchased the Butterfly embossing die cut from SU and after waiting for weeks for it to arrive, it's here, but I can't figure out how to make it work in my Cuttlebug. Does anyone have any tips for me so my daughter & I can get to creating with it this afternoon?

Thanks much!

Is it the small square one?

If it is, the sandwich I use is: A plate, B plate, die (with paper in it) and another B plate.

Hope this helps!

Same here. If it is the approx. 2x2" square one, I use A plate, B plate, die w/paper inside, and another B plate. Works great.

Msong & Delse...it's the one from the Spring Mini that die cuts & embosses all in one crank through the Cuttlebug. I tried this sandwich and it seems to not want to go through.

The Occasions Mini, right? (The one with the orange cover...)

I just tried and made sure of my sandwich; the above plate/die order is correct. It does require an extra "oomph" to get it to keep going over the die...sorry for the technical wording =).

I've found the Cuttlebug to be quite the workhorse; I've cranked sandwiches through that I thought would for sure break it, but it has been quite strong...hehe...

Good luck!

I just tried mine out... because I couldn't remember and here is what works in mine...

A plate
B plate
butterfly die with paper in it
B plate

A trick... if it sticks... fold up some wax paper and run it through a bunch of times... the paper will pop out...

Default Jellychick...you have the ebosslit that

has a die cut & the embossing feature from SU and used the SU one in your Bug using this recipe?

I keep trying to crank the handle & it gets hung up like the plates are going to break. That's the only reason I haven't run it through all the way, cuz I don't want to break it.

As others have said, just keep crankin'. It will seem like the plates will break, but they won't (or shouldn't). The sandwich above is the correct one.

Default Thank you everyone.

I just kept cranking like Cal Gramma said and it went right through. Sure felt it like was going to break, though. PHEW...that's the closest I've come to not having something go through my Bug. I LOVE my bug and don't want anything to happen to it.

Glad it worked for you! I love my bug too & would be lost without it, as I use it on almost every card in some form or fashion.

I know that each CB's tension might differ. If the sandwich is correct, try staggering the plates so thatthe 'whole' sandwich isn't starting through at the same time. (Place the plates each back a little from the 'A' plate. KWIM?)

I agree, the CB is worth the price I paid for mine many times over. Got a Big Shot as a gift and use is for the extended dies mostly because I don't have the CB extended plates.
