I have been using the A2 folders for a while with my sizzix and love them. For Christmas i got the bug and a couple of the small embossing folders. When I put them through with the sandwich listed in the book, I get the outline of the folder around the design. What am I doing wrong. thanks for any help, kim
I have the same problem. Check out these gorgeous cards made my Sharon Johnson using the small folders and no sign of that outline. Some have speculated that as you use the Cuttlebug more, the rollers loosen up and do not have quite as much pressure. I'm thinking that might be true if you use die cuts in them which are thicker in the sandwich going through. Since I only use my CB with the embossing folders, mine has never "loosened up".
I haven't had time to play around to see if there are ways to prevent the lines yet. I have a couple of ideas and if anything works out, I'll post it here.
I have never had the problem with the lines you ladies had. I wanted to say Kiko that your embossed cards are beautiful. I especially love the first one with the 2" embossing folder. That set is one of my favorites...Beautiful job.

I only wish those were my cards! They are links from Sharon (notimetostamp) Johnson's gallery . Her blog, No Time To Stamp?, is amazing too.

I too have been playing with the bug and have those annoying lines showing up and I'm very disappointed. I added scotch tape to the edges of the folder and it softened the lines somewhat but didn't eliminate the problem. I'd love an easy solution cause Sharons cards are so beautiful. thnx Pam

Does it make a difference what kind of paper you use? My 'bug is new, too, but I don't have any folder lines with the 110 lb. Wassau.

I just came up with a solution that works for me. I posted it in another thread about the same issue, but will post it here also in case you don't see the other one.
################################################## ###
I just finished playing around with my CB and little folders. Mine impresses the edges very visibly, so I tried a couple of things. Obviously the two B plates applied too much pressure, so this is what I did to finally get a line-free result:
I just used the A plate, 4 layers of SU cardstock as a shim, the little CB embossing folder with my CS inside, then the C plate on top and cranked it through. It embossed nicely but without the lines of the edges of the folder. I verified my method with two folders--the stitched square and fancy corner.
I'm sure there are other options to get a similar result and I would love to hear them. Many of you have said that your Bug does not leave the edges. Lucky you!
Edited to add: I didn't see Momis Mama's suggestion until I after I posted this, but she was absolutely right! It was just a matter of finding the right amount of shim. Using just the A & C didn't leave an impression at all, so a little bit of trial and error was the ticket.
SusieQ4417.......If you use white core paper, yes you can sand the raised edge after you use an embossing folder with the Cuttlebug. It will only work with the white core paper (I'm assuming you are familiar with white core paper). You can sand with either a sanding block or even with an emery board. You are just skimming off the top color part of the raised embossing. You can sand as little or as much as you want. Some people like that look and some don't. It's a matter of opinion, but worth a try to see your choice. Personally, I'm not a fan of the look.

do you mean sand the edges of the embossing folders?
very clever... that just might help.
i may have to get me some of the smaller ones. i hadn't bought any as of yet because of the problems the OP is talking about. she is not the only one i have heard about having this problem.
someone had posted a 'recipe' on the order of things to put thru the bug... i can't seem to find it now.
