Sorry if this has been asked in another thread. I received 3 new embossing folders in the mail today and when I tried them out I noticed faint rectangles that were also embossed onto the paper. These are not part of the design. I can see them on the folder. At first I thought I had a bad batch but when I looked at my old swirl folder that I picked up before Christmas, it had the same rectangles. I think they are more noticeable on dark card stock.
Is this happening to anyone else? I really notice it on the bloom dots and textile texture. Is there a way to minimize this? I am using SU cardstock.
yes, this happens to me too. However, for some reason, I notice it mostly when the fit is really tight going through the rollers (maybe if the plates are just a bit off it makes it harder to go through the rollers smoothly). When it's really a tight fit, that's when I get the lines. Just try and make sure the plates are evenly aligned before sending through and you should be ok. Maybe someone else has a different take on it though, so I'll sign off right now. Hope that helped a little.
I've noticed it too and it occurs on all 6 of my folders. They were all bought at different times and sources so I'm not sure if it was a bad batch or just the way they are.
I *just* got my CB (yesterday!!) and a bunch of the folders and have only had the chance to play w/ 2 of them so far (heart blocks and the d'vine swirl) and noticed the lines from the rectangles ASAP.
I'm new to the whole die-cutting/embossing machine world so I'm of NO help b/c I have NO idea!!
I just looked at my Textured Textile folder and if you look really close you can see the rectangles are in the folder itself. I took a look at the other folders that I have (I have 12) and it is in each one. I got them at different times and from different places, so either they are all from bad batches or that's the way they are. It has made any difference to the beautiful cards I'm cranking out with my CB.

Live in the moment and make it so beautiful it's worth remembering.
I'm guessing it's a part of the manufacturing process - I'll see after I play w/ them some more if it's a big enough issue to contact Provo Craft over (me thinks it's not but we'll see! )
Having got my binoculars out!!! i can just about make out the rectangles on the two folders I have, but I use my big shot and they don't come out on the cardstock at all, and have tried different types of cardstock, include pearlised. Soooo perhaps it is the cuttlebug and its tight mechanisms maybe! not sure what else to say
I think it has to do with the tightness of the sandwich. Sometimes my cardstock is a bit thicker, and then they show up more. However, nobody has said to me, "Wow! what are those little rectangles in the corners?" yet. So I think they're not that noticeable. Also, I notice them less now than when I started, way back on Christmas Day. LOL I think I've "stretched out" my cuttlebug. :-)
You know I read about this quite a while ago so I was prepared when it happened to me. It's more noticeable on some folders than others but it doesn't seem to distract from the beauty too much. I am surprised that someone hasn't contacted Provo by now and found out the story on this.
