I'm curious. If you bought your cricut in the past year...
1. Which model did you buy?
2. Where did you buy it?
3. What kind of bundle did you get, if any?
4. How much did you spend?

New updates from Cricut!

Offline Compatibility - In Beta - Work in Design Space with or without cell service or internet connection. Always have your favorite app at your fingertips. iOS

Design Space for Android is under development, as well. Have to assume it will come pre-set with the Offline Compatibility options.

Also, there's a note about a new iOS app called Cricut Basics. "The perfect app for newbies or experienced users in a hurry! With the new Cricut Basics app, you just select your images and cut. Plus, use it on the go and cut when you want."

Looking forward to the offline options, to be sure!

I don't remember any of this exactly.

1. Explore Air - and I am LOVING it!!
2. Cricut.com
3. I went with the best I could afford, which included both Antiquity and Calligraphy pen sets, a score pen, deep cut blade, and a set of mats.
4. ~ $210 in the end. I'm sure I had a coupon (or free shipping, or both) and used Ebates, etc and so on.

1. Explore Air (I had older models, and I wanted to upgrade.)
2. Michael's
3. The machine, free images and projects in Design Space from Lia Griffith.
4. It was on Clearance for $75, because it was missing the cutting mat!!

I know - right? I brought it all the way home from Manhattan on the bus. (I live in the Bronx.) My arms were aching, and I had to stop every few yards while walking to and from the bus stop, but it was totally worth it. It works like a charm. I just learned how to write on a die cut and cut it out at the same time. Very cool!

The Cricut Explore, Explore Air and the Explore One. And, yes, you need the internet to use all three of these machines.

Do you need a computer for the 3 new Cricuts? I know you can use at least one of them with Internet but can I use my cartridges with them and do I have to have a computer? I go to weekend crops and am not about to lug my desktop with me.

Not only do you need a computer for all the new Cricuts, but you need internet access, as well. The design program, required because you cannot cut directly from physical cartridges, is online-dependent.

There's talk of an offline option coming in the future, but Provo Craft is notorious for late (or never) releasing "coming in the future" capabilities.

Sorry if this has been asked and answered already, but there are too many posts, and the Search function wasn't of any help.

Does anyone know how to import .cut files into Design Space? I've Googled it, but I'm coming up empty. Thanks!

Sorry if this has already been asked but I found a cricut create for cheap (dont have the money to spend on the newer versions) and am wondering if I can connect it to my computer to use the online studio where you can buy individual cuts. I cant seem to find the answer anywhere online. Thanks

You can use the Create with Cricut Craft Room online, and I THINK you can buy individual images there. You'll probably have to update the software/firmware to use it, but you'll be prompted when you connect to CCR if that's necessary. Congrats on the great deal!

Hi
I have had my Cricut for many years and used it on my PC - now we just bought a MAC - 1. Will I have any trouble using my Cricut Craft room on the MAC (once it's installed of course)
2. Can I still use all the cartridges I have uploaded to the Craft Room over the years on the Mac?
3. Will I be able to use the designs I created on my old PC to my new MAC Cricut Craft Room?
thanks! It's been while since I have used my Cricut but now with a new computer it will be better I hope!!!

I have an E2 and use it with the CCR on my Mac. I have a laptop and one of it's uses was to be able to craft with my E2 and CCR. My main computer is upstairs and hauling my stuff up there was a pain; this works great, when I use the CCR!!!

Has anyone figured out how to cut out stamped images with the SnapMat feature? Do you have to scan the images in one at a time, or can you scan them all and then ungroup them?

Hi everyone!
I've got a question. I've got a Cricut Expression and Sure Cuts A lot 2. Does anyone know if a Silhouette design is compatible for cutting. I'm wondering if the design is imported to the SCAL, it really doesn't make a difference what actually cutting it.

Thanks

Jill

Jill, Silhouette files are in a different format, so they can't be cut in SCAL software. You would first have to convert them to SVG format. There are videos out there on how to do that with free software options. It isn't very difficult if you are a little tech savvy, which you probably are if you are using SCAL2. HTH.

Thanks! I'll look into it!

Do you know by chance what format they are? I had a silhouette years ago, but cannot remember!

I'm new here but not new to Cricut. I just want to tell you all that Cricut.com is having fantastic sales going on now. Better prices than Amazon and free shipping all December. I just bought a Cricut Air for $179 .99 with free shipping and no tax! I also bought the variety mat set for $17.49. I hate to enable but someone's gotta do it!

Hi Ladies hope you can help me better than the cricut rep. I just got the cricut personal and its cutting circles lopsided. I updated the firmware. Its a cricut personal. I'm using George cart and Elegant edges. Any image with a circle in it or just a simple circle cuts lopsided. Could it be the blade? The cartridge? Any help appreciated thanks

I used to have an expression but never had this issue. Had to sell it a couple of years ago due to hard times.

Thanks ladies

Strange thing happened to my box of cartridges....anyone else have this happen?I opened my clean, sealed box of cartridges and everyone one of them is sticky all around the rubber part. The label seems fine and unaffected. Can these be cleaned? I'm thinking the rubber is decomposing. Nothing is spilled in or around the case.
I called Cricut and they had no clue.

Yes, I read about this somewhere else and recently checked mine. Two of my oldest cartridges are gross and sticky. I think the rubber is breaking down too. One suggestion was to dust the sticky edges with baby powder. I think I'll try that. Blech!!

It worked very well, although it was a little messy. It's definitely better than having all that sticky goo get all over my hands.

Do you have any suggestions how to keep powder out of the opening?

I sprinkled the powder on my fingers and applied it to the cartridge, avoiding the opening. I didn't have any issues with the powder flying around.

I'm a little late to the cricut world. Is it too late to get cartridges?? If not where is the best deals. I finally got to use it last month and oh my I was in love but now I am afraid I won't find any cartridges since everything is done on the computer. To be honest I like the idea of the cartridges, I am computer challenged. Any help where the best place to shop would be great!

They still make new cartridges - you can buy from Cricut or the big box stores. There are some good online retailers too but I get most of mine in the Monthly Mystery box which I buy through on-line bloggers.
this is a good one

Several can be found at Joann's, Michael's, and Hobby Lobby.

I have bought a few on Amazon, Ebay and Etsy. I also don't want my cricut hooked up to the computer. Seems a lot simpler that way...
