Default Cricut Explore Air 2 vs Cricut Maker

Any suggestions? I had the original cricut about 5 years ago but got rid of it. Now getting back into card making and don’t want to have to buy a ton of punches if I can get one machine to cut what I want. Thank you!

I love my Explore Air (1)! I can cut everything I need to cut on it, and I even engraved a bracelet last week. If you think you will be cutting a lot of fabric or other materials, I would get the Maker. If you will be working with mostly cardstock, paper, vinyl, chipboard, and stencil material, the Explore Air 2 should be fine.

I love the Maker. I've had it since it first came out. It's been amazing. The cutting technology is the best! I make cards a lot with it and I make my own die cuts if I can find the right SVG or create it myself in Design Space. What I like about making my own dies is I can change the size to fit any card and fit the space in which I want to place it. The only difference between the Air2 and the Maker is that the Maker can cut a few more materials than the Air2.
