Default craft pad coverage questions

I have the white and vanilla craft pads and am thinking about buying many more colors for scrapbooking and cardmaking. I am concerned about the coverage, especially with the lighter colors. My white covers well but my vanilla is sort of worthless. I just get a mucky unclear image when I stamp on any color cardstock. I don't want to invest in them if they are all going to be that way. I'd like some advice from those who have them and use them. I'd like to know if the soft subtles have good coverage and also what are your favorite colors of craft pad.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks, Chris

I own and love:

The entire Bold Brights Collection of Craft.

Also own:

Craft White, Vanilla, Black, Close to Cocoa, Barely Banana, Bliss Blue, Pretty in Pink, More Mustard, Old Olive, Baroque Burgundy. Love 'em all!

I intend to add: Chocolate Chip, Forest Foliage, Blush Blossom, Marvelous Magenta, and possibly Night of Navy.

I have found Bliss Blue (and all CRAFT pads in general) to have a much more intense color saturation than it's "dye" counterpart (and boy did it WOW the crowd at my workshop last night when I brought it for the project we did BY MISTAKE. Classic dye was intended. However, I will have to check to see if anybody ordered it. They sure did go NUTS over it, tho! )

I was alarmed to hear your Vanilla was useless; mine works fabulously and I love the effect on darker AND lighter colored card stocks. You may have a defective one? However, if it's over 30 days since you received it, you may not have recourse in asking your demonstrator to get a replacement at SU!'s expense.

HTH,

I have bold brights and earth elements. I don' t know about the soft subtles, but will be interested about them. I know my earth elements have very good coverage. I think I read somewhere on here one time that the vanilla wasn't as good. I am not sure why. I have white and use it many times, but not vanilla. I love the craft pads, but they do take longer to dry. Sorry I can't help more.

I have white, vanilla and summer sun. The coverage is great. I 've never had trouble with any of my pads. I hated them when they used to have the fabric covering over the foam. The foam alone is the best for holding onto the the wet pigment ink.

I have many of the soft subtles. I stamped sage shadow onto forest foliage and it looked really wet and see through until I hit it with a heat gun and then it went really opaque and looked exactly like the sage shadow is supposed to look. I love them. I didn't always love them. It just took some time getting used to them.

My sister and I bought the classic pads first and I am more than happy to let her keep those at her house. I am collecting the craft pads for my house and have no need of classic pads at all... well occasionally with some techniques, but I am going to buy a few fade resistant dye pads after I collect craft.

I love mine...they give a more intense color than the classic, dye pads...and I love that I can use them on a lot more surfaces.
