Default Core'dinations cardstock help

I love the look of this stuff, but I seem to have some problems with cracking and tearing. I sprayed with water before I dry embossed with my CB folder, which helped some, although I still got cracking. Of course, I sand the top layer anyway, so then you cannot see the cracking. However, the first one I ruined when I sanded it, the cardstock tore in several places between the embossed areas. It just seems rather brittle to me.

I had better success the second time around after spraying with water, and I sanded the CS while keeping it still on the back of the embossing folder, which seemed to give it more support.

Does anyone who works with it frequently have tips on distressing this cardstock? What do you use: a sanding block, sandpaper, something else? Fine or coarse? Do you rub back and forth, one direction, in a circular motion? Ant other tips to minimize cracking in the embossing folder? I use a Big Shot, BTW.

is your sandwich too tight thru the CB?

I get occasional small cracks, but nothing huge, besides as you said sanding hides it. As to sanding, I guess I go back and forth, but touch up with circular motion to get the tough spots. I have never moistened to paper before embossing.

I would check your sandwich for your cuttlebug. You may not need a shim if your cardstock is tearing. Also what type of sanding block are you using? I have been using a nail file I got at the dollar store to sand with. It has like 6-7 different grits on the thing and I can use whichever seems to work best.

I love Core'dinations! It's so unique!
