Copic Markers, Watercolor Crayons, Reinkers, or SU Markers?
What's your favorite way to color images??
I apologize if this has posted numerous times before. I have not been here much lately. I just bought some Copic Markers and own 8 of them. I like how they color, but i think I like the look of the reinkers coloring best.

I recently got a few Copics and I use several other brands of markers too. I like markers the best, not real fond of watercoloring and have never used reinkers before. I need more pastel colored markers too, can never have enough!
My very favorite is Prismacolor colored Pencils (not the watercolor ones) and gamsol
Watercolor pencils and watercolor crayons are tied for 2nd. place
Markers (waterbased) are my 3rd. favorite
Chalks would be my 4th favorite
I am putting Copics last because I just got them this week and have not had time to practice with them. :-D
I use Copics for clear and bold coloring and waterbrushes with inkers for softer coloring. I couldn't choose between them just because the result is quite different and each has its place.
I still like watercolor pencils too...but tend to go for reinkers to match colors first.

I have Copics and I love them, but my favorite way to color is with a reinker and paintbrush. I love the depth of color I can get and the authentic watercolored look.
I like watercoloring the best- twinks, wc crayons, wc pencils, whatever. I use my Prismacolor pencils sometimes but I don't like the gamsol technique much. I also like markers but only for certain "looks" and I have a collection of Prismacolor markers bought on sale mixed with Bics and Sharpies- and they all work together fine so I will definitely NOT spend the major money for copics.
thanks for your input.. was just curious the various opinions. I have bought mixed Copics from Hobby Lobby when they were on sale (either 30 or 40% off). Are there any that I can find cheaper than that? I love how they don't show the 'lines' when you color.

IMHO, copics are great, but too pricey for me to get a huge set, and they definitely have a learning curve if you're wanting shading etc.
I personally prefer using ink from the lid of the ink pad or reinkers and an aqua painter. You can get professional results from using that method! HINT: try using watercolor paper... it makes a big difference!
The prisma color pencils and odorless mineral spirits are my second favorite. They are easy to use, will erase if you mess up and have endless blending and shading possibilities.

www.oozak.com has them for $3.90 each for sketch with free shipping over $50. They are often out of stock of popular colors though.
I personally LOVE www.creativeplaystamps.com where they are $4.46 with free shipping after $50, but they have tons of other stamping supplies at great prices as well, and almost all colors are in stock!

I like to color with many different mediums but my favorite for the past couple years has been Prismacolors and Gamsol, and this continues to be the technique I like best. The Copics look wonderful but way too pricey for me at this time!
I resisted the copics for months now. I recently was at an all day stamping class with Julie Ebersole and she has totally hooked me onto those puppies. I just put in an order for the full "A" set as well as the Koh-i-noor Woodless Colour pencils. These are so great for coloring as well for something different than markers. I would totally try these for yourself both mediums and see how much you just love using them. I have watercolor crayons, pastels and SU markers. I think the copics are these best I have used. I would again suggest getting to be able to try and use them before you decide.
I haven't tried copics yet... and I'd definitely need to try them before I dished out that kind of money! I have been hooked on SU's water colored crayons ever since they came out, but my prized possession is a huge set of Koh inor water colored pencils that I bought in the Czech Republic and carried home in my carry on bag. The color range is incredible and with SU blender pens shading is so easy!
I have copic sketch markers.. I love them and use them everyday. I just bought as needed..tried to match to the colors as good as I could.( so far I love all the choices I have purchased) I also love to watercolor with the ink refills. It does give your project a whole different look. More layering.. is possible. I have not tried to use the blender markers for the copics.. any info on those would be great.

I think Copics are my favorite. At least they are what I reach for most often these days.
I also like Prisma colored pencils for a softer, more subtle look. I never really got the hang of the gamsol technique, so I just use the colorless blending pencil to blend mine.
I also like water coloring with the ink (stamp pad lid or reinker) but it's not really something I can do sitting on the couch next to DH like Copics or Prismas, so I don't do it very often.
My first set of watercolor wonder crayons will be here shortly and I can't wait to try them. I don't have the SU markers and frankly have no plans to get them. They just don't appeal to me and I'm not sure why LOL~
I use my Tombows scribbled onto a scrap piece of acetate & then picked up with an Aqwash (sp?) pen.
I use my Derwent watercolour pencils as both pencils & with the Aqwash pen.
I use my Derwent pastel pencils & sometimes smudge them with either my fingers or use a q-tip for when I want a really soft look.
I use my Twinkling H2O's when I want that bit of sparkle or shimmer.
I have also been known to use Perfect Pearls to paint/colour with & my chalks too.

I haven't used a thing since I got my Copics markers ~ I consider them the best Stamping investment I've ever made! ~ well, I do think I've used some Twinkling H2Os ~ but just as an accent to my Copics... I'm still waiting for Dick Blick to have another 20% sale so I can get another set (I hope it wasn't a once a year sale... if so I'll just have to get the last 2 sets I need...)
I have to choose a preference? ha ha I really like my COPICs, but wish I was better at coloring with them. I also really like my Koh-I-Noor pencils and find them much easier to blend and get shading. For me, I think it depends on which images I am coloring.
