Default Comparable substitute for SU! 2-way glue pen?

I was so disappointed to learn that SU! doesn't carry the 2-way glue pen (blue one) anymore. Love that stuff!!!! Anybody know if another company makes it? Thanks for your help!

Have you tried Zig 2 way glue. It's blue when wet
Dries clear. If you use it when wet it's permanent
Let it dry first it's repositionable. It comes in three styles
Fine point ( ballpoint) chisel tip and wide tip.
My favorite glue. Can get it at Joann's. Michaels,
Hobby Lobby.

I agree. I believe the SU two way glue pen was manufactured by Zig, not sure. I know I didn't like the Martha Stewart glue pen, when I tried it years ago.

I miss that two-way glue pen. I have often wondered what would be a good stand in for it. Thanks for inquiring, Shirl.

Thanks Diane,

Here is a link to the video I saw last night.

She shows this Nuvo Pen and it looks like the two way. It is about 16.02 in the video. It certainly looks the same, but was just wondering if anyone had tried it and what they thought.

Default Nuvo appears to work like a two-way glue pen..

I pulled out one of my Nuvo Glue Pens and tried it out. On SU! (colored) cardstock I seemed to need to use the pen with a bit of a heavy hand in order to leave enough glue to dry out, so to speak, to be able to test it as a temporary adhesive. As a normal glue pen, where you intend to permanently glue items together, it worked like just a glue pen should. That said, when I applied it to the cardstock and let it dry for over 20 minutes, it worked just like a Post-It note with a bit more stick to it. Not sure if that helps, but I figured that I would try. I'll check the glued area again in about an hour to see if it loses the ability to use it as a temporary adhesive or not.

Thanks Barbara, does your Nuvo glue pen have a thick nib like the old SU one, or does it look like a ball point pen?

I actually have all three styles of the Nuvo glue pens; the largest one looks like a poster sized Sharpie Marker, the next size down is their Nuvo Glue Pen with a medium flat tip - which in my opinion is closest to the size of the old SU! two-way glue pen. The third is a more like a ballpoint type pen that has glue instead of ink coming out. All have worked for me, depending on what I'm designing, however I'm most often drawn to the middle (medium) sized pen with a chisel tip that isn't too wide.

BTW - the two-way aspect of that pen on 80lb cardstock (my post earlier) after one week of sitting there, it didn't quite work too well as a temporary adhesive. That said, it is the CLOSEST I have found to the two-way glue pen. I personally love them, and if you watch Tonic's site they often have deals. I purchased two sets of each for about $16 (delivery included) I believe near or after black Friday this last year. Previously I had ordered them all (not knowing which size I wanted, nor would like) from SMS to try out. They're not priced high, in my opinion, so it's worth trying to see if you like it. They works well when I want to draw lines or dots to put glitter on cards, which is mostly what I was after.

Thank you so much, Barbara. This explains my confusion. I saw the thick nibbed one in the video, but when I went online to google Nuvo Glue pen, all that was coming up was the one like a ball point pen.

So, now I know there are 3 different style glue pens from Nuvo!

Thank you for taking the time to post and clear up my confusion!

Now does the middle size one say on the packaging about the size of the nib? I do not want to buy the wrong one, as I already have other brands that are the ball point one.

If you look at the Tonic Studios website under adhesives you will see all three there. The glue does come out white and dries clear. The medium one that I use the most is the Medium Flat Tip, item #203N. HTH!

Shirl - I will check my stash later today. I know that I have several of their glue pens, and if I do have several of the medium glue pens I am more than happy to send one to you. That way you can try it to see if you actually like it!

Barbara, you are so kind to offer, but it will be too expensive for you to mail it to me. And, lol, I do not want to make a dent in your crafty budget, lol. Thank you for stating the item# too. Very considerate of you.

Today I did see that Nuvo pen at a sale. But, instead I bought the chisel edge Zig glue pen because it was cheaper than the Nuvo one.

So, it is all good. But again, I do thank you for offering. You are so sweet to do that.
