Colored Stickles help....
When I bought my stickles I bought a bottle of "diamond" and a bottle of "turquoise". I love the diamond--can't get enough of it! But what do you do with colored stickles?!?
Everytime I use it--It looks like a first grader got into the glitter and had fun.
Any suggestions?
Or do I just chalk it up as an unwise buy?
TIA

I'm wondering the same thing...when I first bought them, I bought them in diamond, and a couple of my fave colours.....but I never seem to be able to use the coloured ones and have a happy ending.

I think it would be pretty to add highlights to a flower of the same color. Just a little bit goes a long way. It could also be used to add highlights to water-like the sun shining on water. Good luck!

I have some blue stickles that I bought a long time ago and can't figure out how to use them either!
I did go to a shoebox swap this past weekend and use the orange stickles on a card that had flowers colored with an orange Tombow marker and it is really pretty! I guess you just have to use the colored one on colors that are pretty close to the same.

I use the colors on top of similar colored ink, it blends in nicely & adds just a bit of dazzle. The turquoise is really cool when used as water, like with silly sealife or fishy fishes. Just keeps playing with them, you'll get lots of ideas yourself!

Well, I am glad that I am not the only one who has struggled with this. I think I will try some of my Turquoise Stickles on my Tempting Turquoise paper!
Thanks so much for the support and ideas!

I just bought black and I used it in the center of prima flowers. It was just what the card needed, a little pizzaz...

I outline flowers and stripes with the colored stickles. I have a stamp set that I got from Technique Tuesday called big timber outline and I have filled it in with colored stickles. I have been able to use them on everything. I just made a card with the scalloped square punch and I put stickles along the outside edge of the scallops, just adds some dimension. Sorry, haven't posted the pics yet.

Fruit Punch is the best, and you can spread them around with your finger to make them less like "glitter-glue" I love them on Primas...you can put them in the center and then kind of spread them out on the petals a bit. Waterfall is a nice color too! I seem to like the lighter, more sheer colors though.

That's what I was thinking about doing with the black.

Check out Cindy Lyles's blog. She sells them in her ebay store and she has a nice description on her blog.

I have about 15 different colours of Stickles and I love them all. Just ordered Magenta, looking forward to receiving that one. I use them to add sparkle all over the place, centres of flowers, stems, leaves, outlining snowbanks, snowman's nose and eyes, around the edges of a snowman's hat, the rays of the sun, water, a bird's beak ... I use the red and green a lot at Christmas to add sparkle ... I love ALL the Stickles!

When I try to spread the Stickles with my fingers it makes the ink underneath bleed. I am using regular SU markers and ink pads. Any suggestions?

I love my stickles and use them on all sorts of stuff (many that others have mentioned). A little does go a long way though (IMO) so maybe you are using too much?
Another idea is to make your own glittered paper. Just accent some of the features of a cute patterned paper (try paisley or flowered prints)
