So I'm nearing the end of my big projects shopping phase. Need a reasonably priced solution for painting chipboard.
For the most part, I need a white base (gesso?) and some color pigments so that I can mix small quantities of paint color ONLY when I need them, which will only be now and then.
The items I want to paint are pieces of chipboard being used to make boxes, or chipboard boxes that are already assembled. I'm planning on putting designer paper pieces on top, so for the most part, the only area of a box that will be visible are edges. I do however, want to color coordinate, hence my question about paint.
Would love it if someone could recommend a decent base, and please tell me if:
Distress inks can be used as a coloring agent?
If Distress inks will not work, what other line would that has lots of colors?
Chipboard will mostly be brown, so I need a base that is pretty damn opaque.
Many thanks!
