Cheapest place to buy scor-tape?
Need help. Can anyone tell me where the cheapest source is for scor-tape or sookwang? My previous source, Blitsy.com has been out of business for some time niw and my supply has run out except fornthe 6" roll I have. But desperately need the more narrow widths. TIA.

Where you order may come down to shipping costs for whatever you want to buy (tape, stamps, dies, etc.) and whether the vendor is having any sales. When I have ordered online in the past, I have checked these three companies first. These are tonight's prices for 1/4" ScorTape: EllenHutson.com -- Be Creative brand instead of Scor-Tape -- 1/4" width, approximately 27 yards, $5.54 SimonSaysStamp.com -- Scor-Tape 0.25 Inch, 27 yards, Crafting Tape -- $5.20 MarkerPop.com -- Scor-Tape Adhesive 27 Yards 0.25 Wide 1/4 -- $4.25
I just ordered several rolls of Scor-Tape in various widths from my local scrapbooking store to help her stay in business, to avoid paying shipping, and to see in person what else is in the store.

Scor-tape
The Rubber Buggy sells this and also, check out the 3M double-sided tapes at the hardware store. Came across this at a thrift store for $.25, tried it out and same as Scor-tape. Prima Marketing also sells double-sided tapes. the 3M and Scor-tape is easy to strip off the top but so many brands are too difficult to use since the top strip is a battle to get off.

I don't mean to highjack this thread with a different question .... so I hope this is ok. Can I use the wider Scor-tape or Sookwang when cutting intricate dies (such as words)? Will that work? I struggle when gluing the intricate die cuts. Thank you!!

There is a website called ecstasycrafts. They sell the tapes you are looking for and they have reasonable prices. I am in Canada and the website is ecstasycrafts.ca but I believe they also have an American website as well. I checked their shipping policy and they state they ship within the continental US. Hope this helps.

You can, but scor-tape has a pretty thick backer sheet which dies can have a hard time cutting through. If you want to put double-sided adhesive on paper for die cutting, use Stick-It, which has the thinnest of the backing papers on double-sided adhesive. It comes in sheets, though, not rolls. You may need to use a metal shim in your die cutter either way. You may get more (and possibly better) advice if you start a new thread with this question.

Try Joggles: https://www.joggles.com/art-journals-and-mixed-media/scor-tape This is a different brand and I have not used it, but it's pretty reasonable: https://www.marcopaper.com/products.php?product=X%252dPress-It-High-Tack-Double-Sided-Tape

You have a couple of onlines there...in person- If you go into Manhattan, there is The Ink Pad. Anna's on DS tape are fine but you can always call ahead and ask 212 463-9876. she is at 233 W 19th street There is an uptown Michael's store...but something is weird with the site right now and I cant get in. But they may have it online too. I think they have more online.

Intricate dies
Sometimes, I use spray adhesive like Aleene spray glue on words and intricate dies. Another method that I used was to put glue down on a plastic mat, spread the glue and dip my intricate or word dies on it. Overall, I use the purple lid bottle of Aleene Fast Grab spray glue and can get it on Amazon or Joann Fabric occasionally. You will want to spray it in a trash can and hold the words with a tweezer while spraying it. Some intricate dies are okay to glue with the Tombow clear glue.

I seem to just about always use scor-tape for dies. But it's tricky and vary from machine to machine. I seem to have more luck with Gemini Jr. than Big shot. But I always have Stick it on hand.

Thank you my friends!
TU so much for all your help. When you buy a heap of Scor-tape at half price, and you fo thru it to be faced with sticker price shock (no pun intended 🤣), it can be quite daunting. So I will see who has the best ship.
Thank you once again! ❤❤❤

I use Stick It. Apply to card stock before die-cutting. You will like it.

Yes, you can use Scor-Tape/Sookwang when cutting dies, I do it all the time; I keep various widths of the tape on hand so I waste less. As others have mentioned, Scot-Tape's thick-ish backing sheet can require you to add a shim or pass the sandwich through the cutter more than once, but I don't mind doing that.

The best price for 1/4" and 1/2" is for XPress-It Hi-Tack Double-sided Tape (which is as good as Scor-Tape), but you get 55 yards on a role instead of 27 yards. You can get the 1/4" at Ellen Hutson's right now for $2.89/roll.

Xpress it is what I use on the day to day for years. (The Ink Pad will have that.) I like it a lot. It is very strong. I dont know if it is exactly as strong as sookwang and sookwang comes in wider sizes.
