Default Chameleon Color Tones Colored Pencils Review

I recently bought Chameleon Color Tones colored pencils. I decided to do a review comparing with Fabel-Castell Polychromos, Prismacolor, and Jane Davenport Magic Wand pencils. I also colored a sweet image by Dreamerland Crafts (Let the Journey Begin) but I think the coloring part of the video is too long... does anyone ever watch the entire coloring? I will cut it down a lot next time if not. Thanks for any feedback!

There is a more detailed review plus images and a step-by-step for making the card on my blog: Awash with Color: Chameleon Color Tones Pencils Review Let the Journey Begin

I was being serious when I asked if people watch the coloring part... I really would like to know if this is something I should continue to do, or if I should cut it down more or all together. For example, should I just show some of the coloring but skip a lot of it. Please let me know! I would really appreciate it.

I watched the entire video, here is my feedback. I like YouTube videos that are 10 to 15 minutes long. You covered three topics, colored pencil comparisons, colored pencil storage/coloring supplies and the coloring of an image. I would have preferred three separate videos. I love watching people coloring images, especially when a part of the image is colored in real time. I have learned lots of coloring hints by watching videos. I also liked the pencil comparison since I am always interested in how a the various brands perform on different types of paper, but I'm not interested in pencil storage. Your video was very informative and I would be interested in watching future videos.

Thank you very much for your feedback! I appreciate it. This is really helpful to me! I'm so glad you liked the video too. Videos are a lot of work - I'm hoping people are interested in my topics and find some value in them. THANK YOU!!

For any highly repetitive task, I prefer just a minute of real time and the rest speeded up. Of course I can fast forward through those parts. (Zooming in during coloring or other "picky" tasks can be helpful.) Some videos have music on during those non-talking parts which can be okay. I find background music or beat quite distracting while someone is talking.

I appreciate the storage talk; I think some of us spend as much time or more figuring out organizing as we do crafting! Since this was a product review, the piece I can imagine as a separate video is the card - other than showing it as an example of finished coloring.

Just my take; YMMV. And thanks for the review! Your voice has a nice, calm quality that's easy to listen to, and the speed seems spot on. : )

Thank you for the feedback! Some of my music is louder than I like during talking parts - I've tried to push it way back so it won't be distracting... I may push it back more. I have a slight hissing with my mic (it's not the best brand) so it helps cover that up. I am hoping to get a new mic one of these days. Maybe then I'll feel better about no music during the talking parts. I have thought about zooming in but haven't worked out how to do it smoothly yet. My camera has an app controller of some sort - I'll have to experiment with that. I also thought about using two cameras. I'll keep working on improving!

I already have another video with a review and coloring - not sure I can separate it without re-doing it (can't remember how far I got in editing) but I will keep your comment in mind for future videos!

Hi! They are wax based pencils so you cannot use water, but you may use baby oil, turpentine, terpenoid, sansodor, gamsol, or other solvents (be sure to use solvents in a well ventilated room - see package warnings). I actually found that the pencils blended well on their own - you could maybe use a stump (no need for anything else).
