Default Cardstocks for stamping sold in Canada

Hi, does anyone have any recommendations on cardstocks for stamping that I can buy here in Canada? I prefer to purchase it in stores or Amazon. I know that Neenah classic crest solar white is a good one, but I would have to buy the ream on Amazon and I just don't have the budget for that. I tried the Recollections 110lb and that works okay. I know that cardstock isn't always cheap, but does anyone know a budget friendly cardstock or paper that is good for stamping? Thank you.

I like this Hammermill card stock. It's comparable to SU's whisper white. It's about the same thickness and smoothness. It works great for basic stamping and some copic coloring. I would not use it for an image that will be completely colored; although I have done it.

It comes in a heavy weight for card bases and a thinner weight (which I like to use for the inside of cards).

I use Mikes ll0 lb black and white for most of my bases. I get my Neenah at Staples and sometimes at Walmart.

Nancy, Ellen Hutson sells Neenah Classic Crest solar white and a few other colors in small packs, and ships to Canada - but shipping is spendy. https://www.ellenhutson.com/Search.h...category=F2587

Are you familiar with Paperr Garden in Canada? They sell Neenah.

(I use 80 lb. for layering/stamping, 110 for card bases, or once in a blue moon for stamping.)

Good luck.

I have good luck with Staples 110 cardstock. I use Versafine black ink for outline and use prisma pencils or markers with good result, as well as for embossing. I have also used the “original” recollections card stock made in Texas which I am hoarding lol.

I did not like the look of the color when Recollections first started making this CS in China. I read here somewhere that they have made it whiter. Can anyone here who has the original made in Texas paper compare it to the current one. Thanks

Years ago, I took a chance and visited a local printing company in Eastern Ontario, asking for scraps of misc. card stock. (their scraps which were cut sheets, and broken reams, were my gold trove!) This place became my go to for great quality (and heavy) white and ivory c.s., as well as the occasional coloured stock.

I have also used 'off cuts' from our local printer and had great success with them. They worked well but unfortunately his business moved to another town and that was the end of that! LOL

Since you live in Surrey I assume you visit Bellingham, WA on ocassion? There is a stamp store there called Stampadoodle and they carry Neenah as well as other cardstocks. They have two annual sales........the next one is New Years day and I believe everything is 20 or 25% off. It's a really nice store with friendly and very creative staff.

I see that you live in Surrey. Have you heard of Spicers? They have a Cash and Carry outlet in Richmond where you can get packages of their off-cuts for really good prices. It is near the Ikea in Richmond:

https://www.spicers.ca/cash-carry/

If you are in that area on a weekday, it is worth checking out. I buy most of the heavy cardstock I use for cardbases there, as well as some specialty cardstocks like gold shimmer and linen cs.

I should have given you an example - recently I got a pack of 250 sheets of linen cardstock for $10.
