Default Cardboard Pick Up Truck

I am not sure if I am posting this to the correct forum....does anyone have a tutorial on making a pick up truck out of cardboard that has a slit at the top for people to put cards in? I have checked both youtube and pintrest and I am finding nothing. Help please!! My granddaughter is having her sweet 16 on Nov 12 and making this box is my only job.

Thank you. I'm not very good at changing a pattern to what I need. Ugg this is going to be a hard one I think. Any ideas on how I could change one of them?

Here's one download: PAPERMAU: One Sheet Pickup Truck Paper Model - by Papermau - Download Now!

If you google "how to make a paper truck" and "how to make a paper pick-up truck" you'll get some hits.

Or you could draw or use a template or coloring book to cut out two [flat] trucks, and adhere them to a narrow box in between each paper truck that would hold the gift card. That would give you the 3D effect.

Good luck!

Beth has a good idea. If you have a photo of a pickup you like (or find a royalty-free photo to use) or a stamped and colored image. Have it enlarged & printed (twice - one mirror image) at a copy center. Mount on poster board and cut out. Sandwich a box in between.

Is this kind of what you're looking for? The bed is open and could hold cards. It may be smaller than you want but with a free pattern you could probably enlarge it electronically

Diane, were you able to get to the free pattern for the truck? I was going post that one initially, but the link to the free pattern didn't work. Going to the blog's home page and searching brought me to the same "page not found" message.

Oops, no, I didn't check the link. I just now checked all of the lady's websites and they seem to be really inactive.

Here's a page that might give some direction...enlarging it of course.
Inkjet_Paper_Scissors: 1930s Cars: The Pickup Truck.

I've downloaded the pic of the pattern in my previous post. This afternoon I'll see if I can correct the perspective and come up with a usable pattern. Assuming that truck is what the original poster would like to have.
