Default Cameo and Fabric Question

This is my first post. I have searched the forum but didn't find anything. I am sorry if this has been asked before.

I am more of a crafter than a true stamper. My cousin who is a big stamper (and paid member here) suggested this site for my question.

I am looking to work with a cutting machine and to do some appliques with a twill type fabric. Would the Cameo be good for this? I know that it will do vinyl, paper, and cotton fabric. I have watch a ton of videos on YouTube and read blogs both sewing and crafting. I know no one that has the machine so I am asking here. Please help if possible. Thank you in advance.

Hi Gina, I don't have the Cameo, but there are a couple of threads running in this section right now, 'Have you seen the new Silhouette Portrait' (thats a slightly smaller version of the Cameo) and 'Cricut, Cameo & What else'. Lots of the ladies on there also have Cameo's, and one will be bound to be able to answer your question. Also, this Forum, UK Scrappers ,, have a section devoted to the Cameo, and again, someone there should be able to help.

Happy Dance! I got my Cameo and it cuts twill fabric beautifully! I ironed on some Ultra Heat and Bond and double cut some fine letters and they look great. I left the paper backing on the heat and bond. I haven't done an applique yet but I am sure that it will work great.

I am so very happy, Gina, that the Cameo is doing what you want it to do. Anything that makes it easier to do the things you love to do - well, that's a huge plus in my book. And one of the things we are so good about on SCS is enabling others. After our phone conversation this evening, you sounded like an SCS pro, because you have me thinking about something I never even knew I needed! Thanks a lot, girl!
