Default buying or making a photo box

I'm thinking of getting/making a box to take photos in. I wondered if any of you have thoughts on the best place to buy or instructions to make this. TIA

this is what i found...

i found some instructions some time ago to make one using a cardboard box and tissue paper (i wasn't able to find them just now). i made it and it worked well, but it was just too fragile to be put in the closet and taken out everytime i wanted to use it. i eventually tore the tissue paper on one side and tried to just tape it... i ended up pitching it in hopes i would produce another one that was more sturdy... down the road. as of right now... i still don't have one

I used a box...but found something better than tissue. Here's how I made it:

Get a box...I used one about 12 x 12 x 10. Cut off the top flaps and lay it down so the opening is on the "front". Cut out "windows" on the two sides and the top. I left about 1-1/2 inches of cardboard around the "windows". At this point I covered the outside with some scrapbook paper to make the box look presentable. It used to be a Honeybaked Ham box! ;)

Cut a piece of white posterboard for each of the window sides of the box and cut a matching window. Cover the posterboard with white lining material. It has a sheen that reflects, but allows light through very nicely. Then glue each piece of posterboard on the inside of the box. You have a very neat finished look to the inside of your box.

I haven't finished the inside of my box yet...right now I just drape a piece of lining material inside the box and take my pictures. I plan to put a piece of velcro across the top of the back and make various colors of fabric "drapes" with velcro across the top edge to cover the back and bottom.

I use Ott lites for lighting. Two works best.

Hope that helps. I think the whole thing cost about $3 to make...for the paper and fabric.

Then again, this one is pretty reasonable even though the shipping is a bit high:
