Default Brutus Monroe dies-anyone else have a problem?

I recently purchased the stitched star set for an Independence Day project. I love the sizes and the look of the tiny holes, but I had a problem getting the cut pieces out of the dies. I ended up using the tip of an exacto and going around the entire die to get it to release without tearing.

The dies themselves seem thinner and more "bendable" that some of my other dies like Hero Arts or Lawn Fawn.

Is it just me? Did I get a bad set? Is this typical of Brutus dies?

Thanks,

Billie Sue

I don't have those dies but I use the Sizzix brush tool to release dies: Sizzix Accessory - Die Brush & Foam Pad for Wafer-Thin Dies

There's this one, also: Sizzix Accessory - Die Brush w/Magnetic Pickup Tool

You can find them at many online stores. Spellbinders has a tool, too.
