Smile BIG SHOT PRO? ANYONE

Does anyone here have the Big Shot Pro? If so, what is your opinion regarding the machine? I know it is 40 lbs heavy, what about performance?

I have it. I got it on a crazy Black Friday online deal from JoAnn after a tip on Splitcoast one year. Don't hate me but I paid $149 for it.

I love it. It allows me to use the big Sizzix dies, but also other funky products that would normally take a specialized machine - like the Spellbinders 3D embossing folders, grands dies, etc. I love it the MOST for running multiple embossing folders through at once though - makes multiples super easy and quick. It's a great machine. Sizzix makes quality products, IMHO.

Ditto what Lydia said... only I paid a little more for mine ( they do a sale usually around Christmas too  )
the thing of it is, your not going to haul this around your room ( Or I don't anyways) so, you will need a space for it to stay parked in your room. It's not a portable machine. the pro dies are all big enough for you to lay a 12" sheet of cardstock on them without cutting it first.

one of the tips I read here about using it, was to buy the smaller cutting pads from sizzix for the smaller machines for when you are just cutting small stuff. ( I have not gotten around to that yet) but, I did buy the SU magnetic plate for the smaller big shot to use in it.

My favorite thing about it is, it pretty much is universal in the dies it takes.
I have not found something I cannot run through it yet. and I've had it hmmm 2 maybe 3 ? years now. So, as far as that goes. I started with the original Sizzix big red machine and then purchased 4 or 5 other hand crank die cutting systems after that over the years and, I think this one just may truly be my "forever" machine.

My second favorite thing is it does not plug into the wall. ( no humming motor noises )

I love mine as well. I have the regular big shot too which I use most of the time, but when I am doing multiple cuts or want to use one of my big sizzix pro dies, I am sure glad I have it! Mine took some getting used too... it was hard to get the pads started through at first and I really had to push hard or it tended to just "slide" the top in. But it has loosened up just enough with use that I no longer have that problem.

As Stacy said, it is the only machine out there that I know of that can take any kind/size die or embossing folder. that is why I bought mine.

I have one. I love it. But you need a dedicated area for this as you do it want to move it often. I like it because you can use any die in it. I got one when a area outlet store had a couple they were getting rid of them because the box was dented and roughed up but all in working order. I did some quick research on it on Splitcoast and realized it was worth the $100.00 I paid on it. No regrets.

Thanks for the feedback. Did anyone of you get the one with extended accessories?

I have it, and the extended accessories so I can use the super long dies. I love my BSP!

I also have an AccuCut GrandMark. It takes dies even larger than the BSP with the extended accessories. It'll also accommodate BSP dies.

I love both machines, but if I had to choose, would choose the GrandMark so I could use dies from both companies.

Me too, and did they sell out fast!!! I rarely use my Vagabond or eBosser, because my BSP is so quick and easy. Did I post the tip? I know I posted a heads up somewhere.

I am thinking about getting the big shot plus (don't think I need the pro version) but I'm hesitating because I have the magnetic platform from SU and don't want it to go to waste. Did I understand you correctly that you use the smaller magnetic platform with the big shot pro and no problems? I guess I could use it then in the big shot plus also. Thanks for your help, Susi

I just found a useful video by scrapmadesimple and she used the magnetic platform in the big shot plus - yeah! Thought I'd share this here in case someone else is wondering about this also.

Any platform you can use on any big shot can be used on the pro. I don't use my big shot at all since getting the pro, I even use the lifestyle crafts platform with my pro.

I have one, and have never regretted buying it. I did an overview on my blog, HERE, along with a short list of some of my sandwiches for various dies. Hth.
