I agree w/Lydia. I had both, but after getting the BS, never went back to the CB and eventually sold it. What is it that you think the CB would offer that BS doesn't?
I only have a Big Kick, same as Big Shot. My friend had a CB before BS came out so I used it some when we stamped at her house. She sold her CB when she got the BS. From what I have seen, I would save your money and use it to buy more dies or embossing folders for the BS. The BS does everything the CB does.

I'm with you guys, I have both but only because I got the 'Bug first. I got the Big Shot from DH for my birthday (I know, ain't he great!) anyhow I haven't used my 'Bug even once since then.
I have both & I'm glad I do. Actually, I have the Big Kick & Cuttlebug. I got the Cuttlebug first & love it. I was having a hard time getting it to cut the nestabilities Snowflakes for my Christmas tree. My husband suggested I try the Big Kick & it cut them better. So, I started using both tools. I cut with the Big Kick & embossed with the Cuttlebug. I love it because I can cut & emboss so fast without having to change out the sandwich each time. i got both machines with 50% off coupons, so I don't feel bad about it. JIL
It is having the same tool so why spend the extra 60.00 when you can have that for more spellbinders. Also you will have to buy extra plates for both machines when they get used up. That is just my .02.
I have problems with my cuttlebug not cutting the whole topnote, it will cut about 3/4 and then I have to hand cut the rest, even with using a sandwich. Think I should have thought about it more and just bought the bigshot or big kick
I got the CB first and so use it all the time. I have a BS too but so far dont use it much. Seems like it is easier to grab the CB for what I need. If it breaks..I will not replace it, I will then use the BS.
blessings.

I too pratical to ever buy both. I am blessed to have a cb, but I think maybe the big shot can handle more. I'm happy with my bug. It was a present from my kids.

You can cut and emboss with the Big Kick without switching tabs on the platform.
I use this sandwich:
MPP (Multi Purpose Platform) Tab 2
Clear cutting plate
Nestie blade UP
Cardstock face DOWN
Blue crease pad
Run through Big Kick. This gives you the cut and a really nice emboss in one pass. I do have a small selection of Nesties where the crease pad won't cleanly cut them so I do this.
MPP Tab 2
Clear cutting plate
Nestie blade up
Cardstock face down
Clear cutting plate
Run through Big Kick
Take off the top cutting plate, put blue crease pad on, and run it through again. No switching around with tabs or anything. Makes it much easier!
I have both, but only because I bought the CB before the Big Kick. If I already had a BK (or Big Shot), I wouldn't get a CB.
The only advantage to a CB (IMO) is that it has a smaller footprint, so it doesn't take up as much shelf space.
I recently inherited a Big Shot, so now I've got 3 machines that do pretty much the same thing. I don't feel there's any difference between the BK and BS at all (other than cosmetic). The CB is a great little machine, but doesn't feel quite as steady to me, perhaps because it sits a bit higher and the feet are closer together.

I used to have both. However, after 4 Cuttlebugs BREAKING, I'm done with them! I LOVE my Big Shot! I've dropped it, have bent the handle, and abused the darn thing! BUT, it's still with me, and still works perfectly!
Personally, I don't feel it's necessary to have more than one manual die cut/embossing machine. I do have both the Cuttlebug and BIGkick, but only because the Cuttlebug was the first to come on the market. After the BIGkick came out I realized it was a much better machine and sturdier. So I did purchase that one which is the primary one I use when needing a manual machine.
Go with the one you feel is the better machine, not the color or size.
well, it seems that every machine on the market offers a feature or ability unique to that particular machine that the others dont share even if they are all meant to do the same type of job. KWIM??
so, if purchased at a good price, or even a gently used one, makes each one a great addition to a "tool box" so to speak!
i have: Slice, Cuttlebug, Bigkick, Texture Boutique, Your Story, and i just added a Circut Create to the mix. i also have oodles of punches, the I-Top, both sizes Crop-a-diles.
they all were either bought on sale, with a gift card or were gifts.
do i use all of them often or every time i craft? No, but it is nice that they are there when i need them depending on what i am doing.
so, i say go for it! buy when at a good price or even put on your holiday/bday wish lists for the family ;)

like, the bigkick and cuttlebug will both cut fabric with some dies, so i can also use them in my sewing projects.....so double the use for the $ hee heeee.........;)

I have both (again, like others, I got the CB first). I do tend to use the BS more, but will pull out the CB (especially if I'm using the CB folders/dies. Just easier than having to make a different sandwich!)
That being said, if I hadn't bought the CB first, I'd probably would have just gotten the BS
I used to have both. Got the cb first and rarely used it. Got the BS and used the heck out it fromt he moment I got it. I just like it so much better...it is much sturdier and you don't have to sorry if it vacuumed down. LOVE my BS and sold my cb and never regretted it for a second.
I have/had three die-cutting machines! I began with the Wizard. I had the ever troubling arm problem and it took over a year before I got a good replacement. In the meanwhile, I bought a Cuttlebug since I had to have something while waiting.
Then Stampin' Up! got the Big Shot, so I tried that. WOW! Died and went to heaven! I never really used the CB after that. Why would I? There is nothing that the Cuttlebug can do that the Big Shot can't... and usually better! So eventually the CB was sold off. I do still have my Wizard that I use with my Nesties, but that is it. I use my BS EVERYDAY! I can't seem to make a card without it!
I have used the cuttlebug and have the big shot (kinda considering getting the new big shot though...) The only plus I found with the cuttlebug is if you plan on taking it places, it frustrates me lugging the big shot around (although it has gotten better after I got the bag for it )
I have a CB, Big Shot Express, Wizard, Quickutz, ... I am a TOOL JUNKIE... but I will say... if I use my BSE on NEsties they get rolled lines in them like they were wet... NEVER with the CB and it's the only thing I can USUALLY get to emboss them... I'm a tool junkie and TOTALLY challenged at every turn using them! LOL
PS When Tim Holtz suitcase machine comes out... yea, I'm GETTIN IT!!!!
