Default big kick question

I know this has probably been asked and answered a zillion times in this forum, and I did look but could not find it.

I came into a little bit of unexpected money, not a whole lot, so don't got too excited for me. But what I have I am using for craft supplies. Yeah me!!

I was going to buy a Big Kick from M's with a 50%off coupon. Before I do, I want to know if there is a difference between it and the Big Shot?

I do have enough to get the Big shot from SU! but I was hoping to get a little more use from the money and half price from Mike's is much better than full price from SU!. and I know I could probably get a better price on line, but shipping heavy items to Newfoundland, Canada is WAY too expensive.

I have never used either one, but the BS looks like it is metal whereas the BK looks plastic. are they the same quality? (I know Sizzex makes them both) are they the same size?

thanks in advance for your opinions and advice

Sizzix will confirm that the only difference between the BK and the BS is cosmetic. They are, in use, the same machine and take the same dies/embossing folders/embossing plates/etc. and will cut/emboss the same materials.

the previous poster is right. the difference is ONLY cosmetic. They function the same and take all the same dies.

However; if you don't like the looks of the Big Kick, check out They sell a pink and black Big Shot for $61.99. And today is the last day they are offering FREE shipping!

Add up what you would pay at your M's with tax included. I found for me, that it was the same price to get the Big Kick at M's as it was for me to get the Big Shot in black from Overstock. And I paid $2.95 shipping. I preferred the black machine so that is what I bought. I love it, have had no problems with it; and used the "leftover" from not buying full retail with SU to buy a few embossing folders!
