I'm thinking about getting one of these to label my stamp sets (among an assortment of other things - I'm all about labels!)... Does anyone have one? I've just started looking into them and see there are quite a few different ones to choose from. Any suggestions?
I have one and love it, love it, love it. I use it to label everything from lunchboxes to my daughters drawers to stamp sets. It's great for organizing. We have an older one but I've seen the PT80 on sale for $14.99 at the office stores.
I got mine when they first came out years ago. My family used to make fun of me because I was labeling everything. I label all my SU sets, and our file folders. It's great for so many things. Mine is very old, still works great. The newer models have more features. Eileen

I have one that I bought very inexpensively several years ago, and I still use it all the time. I have all my paper colors, ink pads, and stamp sets labeled, even the label maker is labeled with my name!!!
I have the green one with black keys that I got a few years ago. It makes reading the labels on my stamp cases SO much easier, and it has also been used to label the many Rubbermaid containers in my home. I got it for ~$15 from Office Depot or Staples, regular price was closer to $40 or $50. My DH even thinks it is a useful gadget!
I just got one for Christmas from my mom. I love that I can get the tapes anywhere, just getting the "M" type tape. Even my DH thinks it is pretty cool and can't wait to label his stuff in the garage.

OMGosh, I can't live without it. My calls me the mad labeler(I guess that's spelled right). Oh yeah, they gave me a brain age game too. Ya think I need it.
But the label maker makes my life much easier. Just make sure you buy alot of tape inserts. They are a little on the pricey side, but so worth it.

Definitely worth it! I use mine all the time, especially in the stamp room. I even brought it with me to my parents' house this week. My mom made a bunch of labels to use later when she's got time to organize. A big plus is that the labels have a peel-off strip on them so you don't have to use them immediately. If Mom ends up needing more, she can email me and I can mail her some.
I should add that the labels are HUGELY durable. I used them to label a buoy on a lake, and the labels stood up to over two months of being constantly pooped on by birds, splashed by lakewater, and extreme sunlight and heat. They lasted another two months after that but the ink got pretty faded. My neighbours used them to label their gardening supplies and hose reels, etc.
We have at least five P-Touch labelers where I work, and everyone loves them. (You would think we'd be more organized, since so many things are labeled, but that's a whole other issue!) We've never had any problems with any of the labelers, and we've had them for a long time. The different colored tapes are nice, since you can find something that will work for just about anything you want to do. I'd give it a thumbs up!
My neighbor lent me hers and after only about 10 minutes I knew I had to have one. I'm a labeling maniac now and it great for labeling stamp boxes, my File folders that hold all my SU paper, and about a 1,000 other things.... Don't hesitate, get it. You won't regret it
I have the Home and Hobby version and love it - I got it about a year ago and just went out to buy my first new roll of tape - and i have labeled the heck out of things....definately worth getting

Mine is the Home & Hobby version, too. I love it. I am unmounting all my stamps, storing them in jewel cases and making a label with the set name for the spine. Makes it very easy to find my sets now.
I have the 1750 and love it. I have individual stamps labeled with it and my household file folders. Oh and my daughter loves to see how long she can make the tape.
I've got a PT12 (must be really old - bought it on ebay) in a box to be donated because I couldn't figure that thing out!!
Even my husband who can figure just about anything out, couldn't get the ribbon to work.
Maybe it's a bad ribbon - any tips?
(my apologies if I'm hijacking this thread)

Those of you who put the labels on your SU sets? Do you just put it over the original label on the clear storage box? Sounds like a great idea, because the labels are hard for me to read. :-) LM

I put the SU! label on the box on the long side opposite the hinge and I put the Ptouch label on one of the short sides. That way I see the SU! label when the open box is facing me and the Ptouch label faces out when it is on the shelf.

I am the Queen of labelling. I bought my labeller and it is one of the most used things in this house. I just wish I could buy different kinds of ribbon. Right now I want a clear background with black ink. Staples has a labeller that has clear background but that would mean I would have to buy another labeller, not going to happen. My labeller now is a white background with black printing. I would like the clear bkg. so I can label bits of cardstock and put on my hanging folders so I know which color is in that particular folder with just a glance. My labeller now has 9mm & 12mm ribbon which is handy because 9mm is a perfect fit on the front of ink pads and the 12mm is a good size to read from a distance on stamp sets or binders etc.
I have two - a smaller one; then the larger model from 2-3 years ago! I love them both and use them often for labeling the stamp sets and many, many other things!
