Anyone else freaking out about the SU "In Color" colors retiring in a few months
I am a SU demo and I am starting to get really sad knowing that Wild Wasabi, Purely Pomegranate, and Soft Sky will soon retire I am soooo addicted to these colors and they have been soooo popular this year! I know, I know, I can stock up on stuff (which I have already started to do) but I will miss them in the upcoming catalog Does anyone else out there feel my pain?

ummmm, no. I did the first in color round, but once I saw the new set, I never missed the old... I knew going in that these are temporary, so I guess I've resigned myself to that fact.
I very rarely keep anything I can no longer demo.... especially consumables that I will not be able to replentish, so for me once they're gone it's out of sight out of mind I guess...

I am really going to miss them as well. I wish that they would add this set permanently!! I've seen the previews of the new in colors and I cannot imagine that they will be as "useable" as this set has been. I am stocking up, but am already afraid I will run out!!!

Yeah, I'm not too crazy over the new ones coming out either. The first year they did the in color colors, I didn't HAVE to have any, so when they were gone, I didn't really care. This year is a different story! I use them alot!

I have purposely not gotten the in colors for this reason. I'm not a SU demo-so there was no "real" reason to get them-I have spent my $ elsewhere and now am not in the boat of freaking and needing to stock up.

I am going to miss Wild Wasabi. I LOVE that color so much.
I still use 2 retired colors from last year, Morning Marigold and Cool Carribean. I bought 3 packs of each and the ink refils. I will do the same for WW.
I do look forward to the new colors but I am sad to see the old go.

WW is definitley the favorite of the six. Don't you think that the Soft Sky and Cool Caribean are pretty similiar?

Yes, I'm going to be placing an order sometime this week. This year's colors were so good, and I was determined not to get them, but now that they're going, I just have to have them . What I liked so much was the ribbon they had with them. I'm not a demo, so I figured I was being stupid for not buying colors that I really, really liked just because they'll be gone soon.

Yes the new blues will be great, I think. Blue Bayou was my least favorite of the In colors in the current catty.

Yes, I will miss a few of them. I'm not sure how I feel about the new colors yet but I'm sure they will grow on me like these did.

Nope...I've gotten to the point where I don't buy anything I can't keep replenishing as I use it up...plus there's got to be a point where enough has got to be enough as far as ink pads & storage goes... I'm happy with what I've got.

I've never got into purchasing the in colors. I'm more apt to spend my money on supplies that I know will be around for some time rather than only for a few months. Maybe if I were a demo I would buy them, but even then I would think customers would spend their money on supplies that they know will not retire a few months later.

I liked some of the prior ones, love most of the current ones, not sure about the ones coming.
I only buy the reinkers and paper, make my own spots so I don't have a hunk of investment and I can keep using them as I like.

I agree because I'll pull a color that will be perfect and I only have 1 sheet left. I bought the GG pad and reinker and was not that happy with the color once I got it. I'm sticking with things I know I can replace it they become my favs.

I am so sad to see Purely Pomegranate go. That's my favorite, and yes I will stock up on that. I've seen the new colors and I'm not too keen on them. But I'm sure in time I will grow to like them.

LOVE River Rock, HATE Groovy Guava - the rest I could go either way. The incoming colors don't do a thing for me - although I'm hoping that once I see actual samples, I'll like them more.

I already started stocking up. I will make sure I have 2 reinkers per color. Several pack of cardstock per color & a few Textured packs. I just love these in-colors and I know I will continue to use them for my personal use. If I don't then I will sell them.

Yeah! I am totally bummed about not having these colors around anymore. I love them and I use them all the time. Now that I have seen the new colors I'm even more bummed. I don't like them at all so far! I guess I'll be stocking up more than I thought!

I didn't get the PP until Feb. and absolutely love it. I ordered 6 packs of cardstock yesterday and will order more with my next order. I ordered WW yesterday. I won't miss Blue Bayou, Guava, River or Sky.

Not freaking out here, but a bit sad to see PP and WW go. I bought extra paper for them and will gladly use them until they are used up. Not sure about the new colors, but I think I like the blues.... Who knows what we'll think when we see them IRL, LOL!
I second wanting SU to retire some of the 48 colors, even if those sorts of decisions must be driven by sales and not the whining of one woman who truly, totally HATES orchid, hunter, brilliant blue, glorious green, and only orange.

I hear you! Glorious green and Yoyo yellow are probably my least faves! They should definitely replace GG with WW! Cameo Coral is another that needs to go in my book!

I really loved all the in colors this year. I am not too excited about next years and I don't think I will be purchasing them because I don't have the room for more stamp pads and I don't like the idea of running out.
Think I will just focusing on collecting items that will be around for awhile.

When you say stocking up on the in color card stock do you only get 4 of each color on the 12x12 and 6 for the 81/2x11? Can you not buy only the colors you want?
How can I look at the new colors coming out?
Thanks
Robin

I am not fond of yoyo or cameo either, but at least I've managed to make some cards with them that I don't hate, LOL. That's the problem with each of us making the decisions of what SU should retire. Some people actually LIKE these colors. What could they be thinking...?

I absolutely love, love, love River Rock and I'd be happy if it were added as a permanent color. I also like the other colors a lot, so I'm stocking up. I didn't like last year's colors, but the ones this year really appealed to me.
I'm not sure about next year's colors, but when I walked past a Pottery Barn Bed & Bath store last week, I thought the merchandise in the window sure looked like it was in the same bright colors as the upcoming In Colors. I'm sure I'll like them once they're out.

You can purchase the colors in individual color packs... I don't have my catty with me so can't tell you how many in each package.
There is a thread with the links to some blogs where the colors were posted. I'll try to find one that is accessible on the regular boards and not the demo section...

CknODaC, thanks for the info I will look at my book again. The only thing I found for card stock on the in colors was on page 162 or 162 and it doesn't have a code to buy individual colors. I don't know anything about SU and I just joined a club so im really looking forward to using some of their products. If you can find the link to the new colors that would be great but please don't go out of your way just for that.
Robin
