Can someone enlighten me as to the difference between alcohol ink and regular dye ink. Are they interchangeable? I was looking at directions on making snow cones from Scrapbooks, Etc. magazine and it called for alcohol ink which I don't have. Can I just use a regular re-inker? The directions want you to drip it onto chunky glitter. Thanks!
Alcohol ink is solvent-based and will stick to slick surfaces (glass, acetate, glazed ceramics etc) whereas dye ink will not. I very much doubt that dye ink will dry if you mix it with glitter since glitter is either plastic (polyester) or glass, I think you'll just end up with it wiping right off and have very inky fingers.
