How do you use these on A2 (4.25 x 5.5") cards??? Especially if they have borders??? I have some 6 x 6 decorative paper sheets, but they have decorative BORDERS on them!!! I can cut out a shape in the middle with a die, but that seems soooo wasteful of the beautiful borders!!! WHY does no one make decorative paper packs of 4 x 5.25"?????? All I can find are 6 x 6, 8 x 8, etc.! Argh. Help!
I guess I can always make 6 x 6 cards so as not to waste the borders... but I really prefer making A2 cards!
You're so right...so many of the paper packages have some gorgeous borders! What I try and do is use the border first and then save the leftover pieces for cutting with a die and/or punches. Most of the time, I'll try and use at least 5.25" and sometimes I'll run it right across to use 5.5" of it. That way I waste the least amount.
I do the same as Lee-Anne, try to use the border part first, so I don't mind borders so much. What annoys me is some of the BG ones which are more heavily distressed around the edges, so it's hard not to end up with at least one noticeably less distressed edge. This K&Co paper is 6x6 and the whole page is lovely, but I've always had to focus on the ornaments, because I don't think they'd look right chopped off part way.
I vote no on lobbying paper companies to make A2, because then they wouldn't be the right size for the European market, LOL.
Sabrina, I've found that sometimes I can sponge some ink on my cut edge to make it look like the other pre-distressed edges. I usually use Tim Holtz distress ink for that, but it usually turns out close enough that most people wouldn't notice. Just a thought that might help you use up those distressed BG papers.
Can't companies make BOTH 6 x 6 AND A2-sized paper?
Sabrina, your cards are gorgeous!!!
I have been able to ink the undistressed cut edges of distressed paper too, but it's never QUITE the same... It's those other borders that I can't easily duplicate that I wonder what I ought to do to not waste them.
