Default 3 x 3 envelopes? *merged*

Where do you buy your 3X3 envelopes other than online? Or do you have a good template for them?

I tried finding these a few weeks ago, but could only find SU's. I even called envelope distributors without any luck. Local paper supply stores, Archivers, Michael's, JoAnn's didn't have them. Hobby Lobby does have a 10 card/envelope pack, but I don't need the cards. Good luck!

Smile I have a template

Morning! When I first got into stamping SU used to sell different envelope templates than they do now. It was 3 in a package and the one I got had a 3 x 3 template in it. I just recently started using/making cards of that size and love them. If you want a copy of the template PM me with your addie and I will send you a copy of the template. Sorry I cannot scan it b/c I don't own a scanner! Other than that I have not really seen good templates.

You can get a 3x3 template from Redcastle.com. I was just on their site and couldn't find the template but maybe you can. Good luck.

Making a simple square envelope is quick and easy ~ no template needed. Measure your finished greeting card, and add ease of 1/4" (more if you layer or use bulky embellishments) to cut a folding template out of heavy weight cardstock (cereal box weight). Next, measure the diagonal of the folding template, and add 1/4" (plus) to get the measurement for the envelope paper square and cut your squares this measurement. Lightly pinch the halfway point on each side of the square in half, and clip out a very small triangle. This step gives you the overlap to glue the envelope together. Lay the folding template diagonally on top of the paper square and crease each side of the envelope. Remove the folding template, fold the 2 side flaps of the envelope toward the center, place a narrow bead of Crystal Effects on the lower edges of the 2 flaps, and fold the bottom triangle of the envelope up to glue onto the side flaps. After you insert the card, use a decorated round sticker to seal the envelope.
Example: a half sheet of CS sliced into thirds makes 3 ~ 2-5/8" gift enclosure cards. Cut a 2-7/8" (scant) folding template, and 4-1/4" squares are perfect ~ 4 per sheet!
Practice with copy paper, and then use designer paper if you wish, but I usually just use plain copy paper, and stamp something to coordinate on the front corner. Use Little Pieces or any tiny stamps to decorate a plain white sticker to use for an envelope closure.
I have uploaded some images to help you get started: Enjoy the freedom of making your own square envelopes!

I created a template for making 3 x 3 envelopes. I'd gladly share, but it's in Publisher format and I don't have the software to make it a pdf. Can anyone do that?

Default 3 x 3 envelopes?

Does anyone know if any stores carry the envelopes to a fit a 3 x 3 square card? Besides SU...I can't find them anywhere and was going to make some 3 x 3 invitations but if I can't find the envelopes (I need them by Monday), I may have to change the size. Any ideas? Or is there even a die for the envelope that size? THANKS!

Have you looked in your Yelllow Pages; I would call the local stationery store and ask them.

Otherwise, someone shared one template here:
3x3 Envy and box for 3x3 cards <--click!

You could print it on cardstock and use that as your template.

I hope those ideas help!

www.marcopaper.com. They are "Cougar Opaque Text" white only, acid free, pointed flap. 250 box, $27.95, 50 pkg, $7.25, or .25 each. Service is good and shipping was quick. No affiliation, just a customer!

I also ordered mine from marcopaper, they were great to order from. They measure 3 1/8" square. Not sure how that compares to the SU size, just wanted to mention.

Thank you all so much!! This was very helpful! I'll look into ordering some. I just thought that they were more popular. Turns out the invites don't really need envelopes...she's just handing them out to the kids at my niece's class for her b-day. They'll just end up lost or in the garbage in a day or two anyways...(don't ya hate that thought?). But if I like doing the 3x3's, I will need the envies for future. I thought it was a good size...you can get 16 squares out of one 12x12 sheet! So it's cost effective too. Anyways, I'll do without this time but put in an order for another time! Thanks for all the references! I'll print out the templates too...they are always good to have. Though I prefer pre-made when I'm doing more than one.

Hobbywoman,
Look on page 29 of the marcospaper web-site. Cougar Opaque White and Natural - 3 1/8" Square envelopes @ $27.95 for 250 or $7.25 for 50 or $0.25 each.
Hope this helps.

It is cheap especially if they are good quality, but who needs 500 3x3 envelopes? I've been looking for this size for awhile, but I only want about 50 not 500.
