Default Metalic colored pencils

How do you use your metallic colored pencils? Any cool techniques you can share? Are they worth it?

I like doing a metallic pencil resist. It is where you stamp an outline image onto Glossy White Cardstock with Staz On ink, color the image in with metallic pencils. Follow that up by taking a brayer that has been inked in a dark color and brayer over the glossy white cardstock. Using a tissue, gently wipe off the excess ink and you will see where the pencil resists the ink. It is really awesome. You see the metallic pencil colors once the ink is wiped off.

Another technique is along the same lines - using glossy white cardstock and staz on ink. This time, I have used a pine tree stamp and used a light colored metallic pencil (silver or champagne) and color a little bit on top of the branches and under the tree. Brayer with a dark color, wipe with a tissue and it looks like there is snow on the branches and on the ground.

I absolutely love these techniques. I like using colored pencils too. They are really nice and they last forever.

That's a cool idea. My problem is that my stamping time is SO limited anymore, that I never have time for stuff like that. I'm always behind on my projects and rushing. I do have the metallic colored pencils, got them at Michael's or HL a long time back. I have not found them to be something I use much for regular coloring. I just don't see enough of that metallic effect like I thought I would.
